Barrington Shopping Centre is a smaller covered Mall area and strip shopping extending out from the three main entrances covering more than 14,000 m² of retail space.

Story

Barrington Shopping Centre is situated near the foot of the Port Hills on Barrington Street. The Centre services a large area of the nearby suburbs and beyond, reaching as far as Banks Peninsula.

Approximately 65,000 people live within a 5km radius of Barrington Shopping Centre with this number continually increasing.

Barrington Shopping Centre is rather unique in that it has both a smaller covered Mall area and strip shopping extending out from the three main entrances covering more than 14,000 m² of retail space. It is anchored with a Fresh Choice and The Warehouse, as well as 47 speciality stores and more than 550 free car parks.

In mid July 2010, Barrington Shopping Centre entered its first stage of a major redevelopment. This involved the relocation and upgrade of several existing tenants, as well as brand new state-of-the-art toilet and parent’s room facilities, and a new entrance way.

Following on from this, a 3,000 square metre extension has been added to the Centre integrating part of our existing external shopping areas with a new modern enclosed retail area. This work was completed in February 2012 and has greatly enhanced the Centre as well as providing a more comprehensive shopping experience for both our existing and new customers.
