Seeing the way that the 2 managers treat their staff is absolutely appalling, and that fact that they’re husband and wife and that’s not a conflict of interest baffles me. So many issues within the Upper Hutt store management and nothing is being done to fix it, just bullying from the managers towards the team. Getting in trouble for talking to one another is not how you run a business when Tina can stand there and talk to people for as long as she likes.
Store itself is quite sadly stocked on most visits. Only giving 5 stars for your phenomenal employee Anjalina who quite honestly goes above and beyond, her product knowledge and willingness to help find the perfect match/products and even to go the extra mile and order stock from other stores because there never is what I need, is quite honestly astounding. Probably would make the trip to the porirua store if it wasn't for her superb customer service - She totally deserves a shout out and a pay rise
Since becoming a bargain chemist convert, I must say that the service I regularly get from our lovely young Lina is exceptional!nI can honestly say that Lina makes my day when I walk in. I could be having a crap of a day but she always manages to make me laugh. Her retail skill set and the way she interacts with customers, Bargain Chemist U H are lucky to have her!nYou rock Lina
Amazing customer service from Anjalina today, above & beyond for my Mother's day shopping! Incredibly knowledgeable with the fragrances & when I wanted to top up the gift, instead of retreating to the checkout or pointing to an aisle as your other employees do she accompanied me and was full of great suggestions despite the other employee rudely interrupting twice to ask her to get her to go and help her customer instead... while she simply stood there pointing. And then a price match at the counter was the cherry on top... Anjalina you are such an asset and will go far with your fantastic customer service attitude. I really really appreciated you today.
I was in the store today and witnessed a concerning interaction between two staff members on the shop floor. One staff member was speaking to a colleague in an unnecessarily harsh and belittling tone regarding stock placement and labelling. The way it was handled was unprofessional, inappropriate for a public setting, and came across as bullying.nnNo matter the issue, staff should be treated with respect—especially in front of customers. It was uncomfortable to witness and not the kind of environment I’d expect from a workplace or retailer I support.
