It's the second time I've been here. Last time, the prawn was very fresh and tasty. That's why brought us here a second time. Par Thai does not taste like last time, but we still enjoy the environment.
Came to Warkworth from West Auckland just to have lunch at Bam Boo and WOW!! what a great move! First of all, loving the decor! Service was top knotch! Our server knew about each dish we asked about! Drinks arrived fast, and food followed not too far behind. We started with duck pancakes...delicious! Then came the pork belly, prawns & squid. Seriously, it all was full of flavour combo's that were banging!! If I had to choose, prawns were my favourite!nWe were second table to arrive at 12pm, we got a window seat looking out to the board walk & river. There is a carpark right outside.nI highly recommend Bam Boo! Thank you!
Walked in and immediately you get a taste of Asia. We ordered their take on the pork belly adobo and it was so good. Clearly flavour was adjusted to foreign palette as it lacks that “umami-umph!”you normally get from authentic Filipino adobo. Despite that their rendition is amazingly good. The pork belly melts in your mouth. We cleansed our palette with Vietnamese coffee. Always a good treat after a dabbling in Asian cuisine.
We were visiting the area and found this restaurant online through reviews.nnStaff were friendly and welcoming and service was awesome from all staff who attended to us.nnFood looked amazing when it came out, some plates tasted better than others. fries with curry sauce was so delicious Tuna was under whelming as it didnt taste fresh, prawns dish and the korean fried chicken was tasty and delicious, defs recommend.nnThe pork belly adobo was a bit disappointing as the sauce was burnt and pork overcooked and because of this we didn't barely ate any of it.nnPork baos, were yummy but buns were soft and also not cooked through and pork was too salty for the small bun.nnOverall this was average based on the dishes we ordered. We did see other tables next to us with nice looking lamb/chicken dishes.nnWould love to see more authentic asia flavors and asian cooking in this menu.
A local favorite of ours now. The tasty menu and specials are very good. Fun cozy atmosphere, with a beautiful setting next to the river. Friendly staff are attentive, making it a pleasure to dine every time.
