The most friendly staff I've ever come across being in so many countries and restaurants. Customer service is spot on. The food is very good except that the bread was too small. My plate placed on the table have some black stain on it but I'm not using it so it's not a big problem, but it should be washed over again or not to put it to use for the customers. No complaint other than that
We loved our 3 course meal here. Highly recommended is the lamb shank. My compliments to the chef! The atmosphere was a bit flat though, maybe they can play different music and add some plants and contrasting artworks. Still enjoyed a great meal. We will return.
Very tired decor. Piece of wood under our bench seat had fallen off. Only 1 very young friendly waitress who did an excellent job and seemed to be totally on her own except for the chef. Didnt seem to be any manager/supervisor around. My husband enjoyed his surf and turf and our pizza was tasty . The prices are far too high for the standard of this restaurant and it should definitely be BYO. It totally needs a makeover and a new name. Sunday night and only 2 other people there.
Had a very lovely time here tonight. It was quiet. Waitress was polite attentive and well spoken. Food was delicious. Had duck with couscous and my partner had fish of the day. And the pizza yummy! We love pizza and th base was exactly how a base should be, crispy! Very happy customers. Only critic would be the couscous was slightly sweet. But that aside absolutely loved the dish.
Thank you Avenue 28, I really enjoyed my Saturday brunch with my husband and uncle. The waitress on was friendly and helpful and it was a warm and pleasant atmosphere. We highly recommend the sundried pappardelle and 3 egg omelette. We are hoping to come on Tuesday for curry night. Can't wait. Keep it up guys.
Very disappointing meal on Saturday evening. We took friends there for what we hoped would be a lovely dinner. The so called Pork Belly was in fact pork loin stuffed with breadcrumbs on site according to the waitress but definately wasn't the meal our friend was expecting. He did complain and they deducted from our bill. My daughter ordered a seafood and chips platter... looked very similar to the frozen seafood you buy from a box at pak n save freezer. I ordered the Ravioli which looked lovely however the spices used were very unusual for an Italian Dish and i did not enjoy the flavours at all. The waitress and all staff were very polite and helpful but overall we felt food itself left us deflated. I doubt we will go there again.
After reading the reviews and being close to us, we decided to go here for our wedding anniversary. When we arrived, there was on waitress on and she was hopefully new and hence struggling to cope with all the orders, drinks etc. We decided to sit outside due to the heat inside, but soon found that they had in closed the outside and hence not letting any breeze in, so was very warm.. When we ordered drinks they took a long time to be delivered as the one waitress was also serving drinks, seating people and taking orders. The start I asked for was not available, no biggie, we would share the venison meat balls. When they arrived, there were tough, gristle and not the best. I decided to go with the Surf and Turf with butterfly prawns. After a long time to be delivered and no request for additional drinks - one waitress the steak came out. Now for a $34 steak and prawns, what I was delivered was two small prawns and I mean small a steak that was cool, no taste and tough. The jus was cold, as in out of the fridge cold. So for the first time in my life, I send a steak meal back to be re-done. It came back and I tried to eat it, but basically was terrible. For a $34 steak, you expect it to be better then what you can cook at home. If I had cooked this, I would not serve it. My wifes duck was meant to be encrusted, however it was not, nor had it been cooked right to provide this. Again, if you can cook it better, it is not worth the money and I am no chef. Overall I REALLY hope we had an off day, as this has rated as the worst restaurant we have ever been to around food and we tend to be very forgiving... I do feel for the waitress, as she as doing her best, but they should have had someone helping the poor girl. Anyhow, our first restaurant we have stated we will not give it a second go.. The best part of the night was desert... which was Kapati Ice Cream from the petrol station on the way home...
Changed from Italian to Greek. Service good and did do gluten free pizza and limited pastas. Food we had was fine but not exciting. This had been one of our favorite restaurants.
I had the absolute pleasure, dining at Avenue 28 after a referral from a friend, this gem of a restaurant hiden away off the beaten track, served up the most delicious meal I have had for sometime, the staff were friendly and inviting, meal was generous, my lamb shank cooked to perfection, desert to die for. I look forward to dining again soon. I highly recommend trying Avenue 28 for a fine dining experience
Such awful food! The puzza bread entre and pizza I ordered was so oily it made me sick all night. My wife ordered the fish a salad and her fish came mashed up together with quinoa and which ruined the fish and the so called salad was only a few pieces of salad leaves and radish. When we complained about it they went into defense mode instead of simply fixing the situation and making a proper fish and salad as advertised . We ended up leaving without our desert we had already paid for the three courses with a voucher and upon payment of the drinks the sneaky lady had charged us for the garlic bread. Awful food and awful service!
