One of my all time favourites. Aside from being 100% vegan, all their dishes are an absolute delight and don't break the bank. Personnel is friendly as and always willing to go the extra mile for a guest. Very glad they're well again after a short downtime due to covid. You guys rock!
TLDR: Good concept and menu, but food was bland and the restaurant was dirty. Service: the staff were nice, but clearly overwhelmed. Rather than seating less people, they filled every table and would turn the tables without even cleaning them between customers. Atmosphere: a fairly straight forward "hole-in-the-wall" which we are fine with as long as the food is immaculate. Unfortunately, without many other positives, it is just a bit run down and dirty restaurant. Food: the true disappointment was the food. With however many 4 and 5 star reviews, we really expected a showstopper in Wellington. While none of the dishes were gross, they all were just oily/greasy and didn't really taste like much. We eat a LOT of Asian food in pretty much every country we visit and I can't rank this anywhere close to the top. The springrolls were so oily, they were dripping from the inside which was not fresh. The dumplings unfortunately just tasted like flour as the filling was not seasoned. The satay "meat" was a good texture, but the "satay" sauce was definitely the oddest we've ever had in our travels. The rice goreng was very underseasoned. We are used to very flavorful goreng that kicks you in the face with spices. This was a VERY white, watered down version. The "spicy" soup was the best, but was just okay compared to other restaurants. Maybe it was a bad night, but we would not risk going back after our stomachs hurt that night. We never took the train to Flavortown, I think the train broke down outside of Wellington... Vegetarian options: Vegan Dietary restrictions: Vegan
Only had the Laksa, strongly recommend, coconut soup, light spice, lots of tofu and a few different textures, udon like thick noodles, yum. Great on a raining day or whenever! Also tofu drum sticks are great.
Amazing vegan food. Everything is vegan. Highly recommend the Laksa, the Roti Chennai, and the drumsticks. Easily some of the best vegan food in Wellington. Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan!
Whole place is vegan, fast turnover didn't have to wait to long for a table. Not fancy dining simple and great affordable food. Will be back to try more off the menu
A hole in the wall vegetarian /vegan restaurant with a simple but tasty fare. Menu consist SE Asian and Cantonese dishes. Imitation meat and chicken dishes available. Portions are reasonably sized yet cheap.
Absolutely gorgeous vegan food every time! I live in Lower Hutt and it's worth the trip. People travel from Eketahuna for this! Best food hands down vegan or not a must try!
The food is tasty, authentic and inexpensive. Great selection of different dishes, and best of all everything is veg. Also they serve the food pretty quickly, always took less than 15 mins from order to delivery. It can get pretty crowded in the evening, so come in early or bring time to wait. It is worth it though! The ambiente is not very special, but its nice that the kitchen is open. Only downside is that international credit cards are not accepted, so as a foreigner bring some cash! Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan/vegetarian. Great varietx of tofu and seitan based "meat" on the menu
The chicken laksa was heavenly. Easily splittable between two people. Pass on the chow mein, which tasted like catsup, but we were able to salvage it at home with some dark soy sauce and ginger, as Mother Nature intended :
Really like this place. All plant based. Very hip! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan and vegetarian options!
