Story

The Auckland Research Centres are based at four locations around Auckland and provide local history, family history and whakapapa research support. Our teams at Central, North, West and South are able to provide expert knowledge and resources to help you on your research journey.

Sir George Grey Special Collections, based at the Central Library, is one of New Zealand's major heritage collections. This valuable resource is available to view by the public without appointment.

Was able to get some nice and quiet work in on the second floor. Staff are kind, respectful and helpful when it comes to assisting you with whatever you need their help with! Will definitely be coming back for some quiet time again :
Good info from staff where books are. Quiet studious feel. Well-stocked. Clean & tidy. Plenty of reading nooks with comfy chairs.
Excellent environment and friendly staff. Very easy to find what you're looking for, and if its not there you can order it in. There is a large selection of computers and design spaces available as well if you need to get some work done. All in all, a good library.
Staff very helpful. Wonderful range of books etc. Atmosphere awesome.
Always the best library to go to. Just to cool down fron the hot sun or to relax and read away
A great place if you like libraries! Close to Queen Street and with good facilities.
It's Massive, 3 Stories. Silent and well maintained. Have a Nice Kids zone for them to play.
Very poor customer service. Staff have no knowledge of what's in their collections and almost everything a library needs eg books is sorted in basement. But lots of people watching YouTube - is big internet cafe not a library. I avoid.
I love it here! It’s not just books, it’s more than just a library. A very nice environment to read and study too. Awesome library! Coming back here everyday to gain knowledge
