I stayed at Atlantis Backpackers for one night after arriving on the ferry, and it was the perfect place to rest and recharge. The hostel offers fantastic value for money, with a comfortable bed and everything you need for a pleasant stay.nnOne of the things I loved most was the character of the place. There is unique artwork throughout the hostel, giving it a creative and welcoming atmosphere. The facilities were excellent too, including a TV room, laundry, and a well-equipped kitchen. The free breakfast was a great bonus, with tea, coffee, toast, and oats available in the morning.nnThe host was one of the most welcoming people I’ve met during my travels, bringing amazing energy that made everyone feel at home. With a cosy log fire crackling away, it was the perfect spot to relax during the winter months.nnI would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone passing through Picton.
Fantastic value for money and perfectly central to everything you need in Picton.nThe hosts are incredibly nice and accommodating, and the whole place has so much character with beautiful hand-painted art everywhere. They even offer complimentary toast and desserts!nInside, there are cozy couches and a billiard table to hang out.nJust a heads-up if you have animal allergies: there are resident cats and birds on the property.
Great piece of New Zealand history. Great value, backpacker busy environment yet warming and homely. Very accommodating for late arrivals off the ferry from Wellington. Love the fluffy towels if you just need a shower. Worth a stop for any traveler heading south.
One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in!nI arrived and was welcomed in the best way someone could give you.nSheryl receptionist and owner showed me around, baked free cake for everyone. I had free breakfast only bread, jam, milk and coffee but better than nothing :.nThe atmosphere was so lovely, I have never seen so much love in a hostel like in Atlantis. An you could even feel the story with Greek mythology and Atlantis as the walls are drawed with goodnesses and so on.
If you are passing through Picton, you have to check out Atlantic Backpackers. It is honestly such a gem and easily one of the most unique stays I’ve encountered.nWhat sets this place apart is the incredible themed atmosphere. It’s beautifully decorated, creating a vibe that feels more like a boutique experience than your standard hostel. Whether you are a traditional backpacker or a camper looking for a solid base, the aesthetic here makes it feel special.nThe Highlights:nThe Cast & Crew: The staff are absolutely wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and they truly make you feel at home.nFacilities: Everything is neatly maintained and the facilities are great. You can tell the team takes real pride in keeping the space clean and functional.nValue: It is incredibly affordable, especially considering how much effort has gone into the decor and upkeep.nHighly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and inspired stay in Picton!
