Best motel stay ever. Liked · Easy check-in and it has air-conditioning so the room temperature could be kept optimal. It was a very large and spacious room! The kitchenette was well-equipped with kitchen tools and utensils. Room was clean too! We loved the jacuzzi bath! The best part - there is heating in the toilet so it was always warm in there! Disliked · Nothing. We loved the room!
Ratings based on expected value for the price, stayed in a studio room with shower. The rooms were spacious, very clean and neat with decent facilities. The glass front door lets in a lot of light though and the outside lights are on all night, so if you like a dark room to sleep, take that into account. The bed was clean and comfortable, but very soft and bouncy I prefer a firmer mattress, generally, unless.... The kitchen was clean and well equipped for 2-3 people My room was close to the main highway and road was noisy despite some other comments indicating not. Closing all the windows helped quite a lot, and together with the white noise from the air-conditioning, I was able to have a decent night's sleep. Overall, I'd recommend Aspen as good value for money. My main criteria are cleanliness and a good bed. Excelled on the cleanliness, adequate on the bed comfort mostly due to personal preferences. The photos on the site are a good and accurate reflection of the room. Food & drinks: If staying here, I highly recommend a short about 150m walk down the road to The Rustic Steakhouse for a truly superb meal.
Initially I gave three stars due to no water to shower or have a drink before I left in the morning. But out of fairness as this was our if the motels control due to pipe burst I have upgraded my rating. Good helpful people and clean motel . I would stay again .Rooms: 4/5
Excellent value for money with tidy, clean and well appointed rooms. We appreciated that they allow dogs too. Located close enough to town to walk if you wanted to. We couldn’t hear traffic noise or other guests. Would definitely stay again. Minor issue with not being able to turn down the air conditioner and my elderly mother in law wasn’t able to use the shower due to it being over a spa bath but, we were only there 1 night on our way home so not a big issue. Noteworthy details: Able to have our dog.
Was clean & tidy and road noise was acceptable levels. But for a 4-star motel you should invest in some new towels, they were pretty basic and thin and small, had better at a camp ground cabin and soap dispensers were empty. Otherwise okRooms: 4/5
We have stayed before here and the cleanliness/tidiness/friendly service has always been consistent. An ideal place to stay overnight or several days. Rooms: Well serviced with good crockery and cutlery. Complimentary tea coffee and hot chocolate. High level of cleanliness. Very well looked after. Nearby activities: The motel is located on the outskirts of Taihape and only a very short ride into the main street-or walkable on a nice day. There is also a bushwalk up to a lookout site at a hill across the road.
This motel is our usual for stop/sleep over on our journey south. It is clean and very tidy with complimentary little shortbread to have with a cuppa upon arrival. Road noise is not an issue for us…. please don’t complain about road noise. This motel is on our state highway after all. I also enjoy the odd rumble of a train passing by…. this is the joy of a genuine kiwi motel. Enjoy your stay and the amenities of small town NZ. There’s nothing better.
Room was nice and tidy. Great spot for truckies to park. Only thing that bugged me was the limited tv channels, coudn't watch my favourite shows on Duke which seems odd being a freeview channel. Apart from that, George was a great host. Will more than likely be back in the near future.Rooms: 5/5
My family and I stayed 2 nights. Staff and house staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy and very spacious. I would definitely come back again. Thank you Rooms: Rooms were very clean and tidy and beds are comfortable. Walkability: Township is in walking distance to all amenities.
This was nice and convenient for us. Rooms were nice and clean and had all the amenities of a self service motel. Good size parking spaces. The staff we encountered were friendly and chatty. The sheep in the paddock behind our room made us laugh. It was neat to see them wandering back and forth. We'll stay here again.
