I was looking for the possum skin since we found out that possum is bad for New Zealand environment.nThen we found this cozy store run by gentle ladies.nThe store have nice goods for hand made lovers and some other good quality local hand made goods.nSo glad to have visited here~
When asking for help, it felt like no question was to small. Definitely what customer service should be. I was also after one of their sets but I didn't like any of the colours, as it was for my 13yo. Choosing a colour I preferred and still making it a set was so simple. Definitely worth a visit. They also post their products so you don't have to worry about adding it to your suitcase.
Tried to buy several things but the shop just didn't have the stock and/or isn't in touch with the modern knitter. No knitting needle cases/holders, no 4ply womens patterns, not a big range of 4ply at all. No knitting bowls, no needle ends, no stitch markers. And to be honest not a great range of wool or colours :
Nice shop BUT prices differ from shop to website. Didn't discover this till got home several hours drive from ashburton. Wool had a new price label put over top of old label web site showed cheaper price. Shows lack of honesty towards customers. Will find an alternative wool shop in future
Fantastic selection and Nicola who owns the store as well as her work colleagues always give me fabulous, friendly service. Ashford has everything you may need from knitting, weaving to spinning supplies. I bought my Joy 2 spinning wheel, spinning chair, blending board and fibre to start my spinning of wool venture off Nicola, very happy customer, thank you.
