My partner and I rented a vehicle from Apex Car Rentals at Auckland Airport in early December 2025. We had the rental for about 10 days, starting at Auckland airport, driving our way down the North Island, and returning it at Apex Car Rentals at Wellington Airport. Regarding rental vehicle return specifically at this Wellington Airport location, the process was straightforward. Location was not super close to the airport terminal, but that was fine because the guy who took our vehicle return also drove us to the airport in their shuttle. Our vehicle return was early morning on a Tuesday, so we were the only ones returning a vehicle and then also the only ones on the shuttle to the airport. The staff was really just the one guy who took our vehicle return and then also drove us to Wellington Airport. He was quiet yet still friendly. We had no issues with our vehicle the entire trip, and it got us through some pretty inclement weather heavy rain and thunderstorms at one point, even if the drive was sort of nerve-wracking. Still, overall we have no complaints. Price was much better than competitors' prices. If we're ever back, we'd surely consider renting from Apex Car Rentals again!

THE SHUTTLE TO THE AIRPORT WAS SEAMLESS.nThe man who drove the shuttle and hired us the car was amazing. We called him and he said was there right away on Christmas.nnWe hired a car for 3 weeks, a Sante fe. Very clean and new.nnThis is the best hire car company experience I’ve ever had.
The staff here are the perfect example of how to be welcomed into New Zealand.nnThe standard of communication and service was amazing. From calling the office to arrange pickup to dropping of the car off at the end of a 5 day rental the staff were friendly and helpful.nnWait time was non existent and the vehicle was spotless and mechanically sound.nnWalked us through the emergency breakdown service and gave us the contact number.nnWould highly recommend and I won’t be going with any other rental in Nz except for this one.

Was treated rudely upon arrival to pick my rental up then filled out extra paperwork after telling him I didn't need to because I've rented cars before so you guys have everything the booking was already set and I just needed to pick up but did the extra paperwork anyway cool as so after all that he then tells me I need physical proof of my address a letter with name and address which I didn't have so he wouldn't let me take the car absolutely rude things like this need to be mentioned in email or booking before you arrive definitely won't be back I missed my nephews wedding because of this and could have all been avoided if he wasn't be a rude person he clearly was having a bad day and didn't want me to get the car guess I have to find another wellington based car hire
