What a horrible start to our holiday. When we walked into the room the mouldy smell was overwhelming. The sheets were torn and yellowish. I started washing all the crockery and cutlery and as I unpacked the cupboards, I took out dirty and wet items. Even washed the cupboards and had to disregard the rags as they were brown. Underneath the spirals on the stove top were tin foil. As my husband removed those, we discovered old burnt food and broken glass. Curtains were damaged and dirty too. My husband felt insects crawling on his skin in the hour we were there. We left, requested a refund which we waited for, for 11 days! At least we got most of our money back. Will not recommend Aloha to anyone!
To say this motel was a disappointment is an understatement. At best, it was mediocre and mundane; at worst, it violated health and safety regulations. When we first arrived at our room, we were met with an immediate sense of muskiness. The air was musty, the smell was unpleasant, and the incredibly dilapidated furniture scene didn't help. The cleanliness of the room was also below standards and a cause for concern. The walls paintings were peeling off, and so were the cupboards. There was a creepy patch in the wall behind my bed, and I could see black mould in the crevices of the room. The kitchen stove and appliances weren't working, and the wall was marked with what appeared to be a rushed and sloppy clean, indicated by wipe marks. But perhaps the worst of all, the LOCK WASN'T WORKING. The lock to our room didn't work properly, meaning we couldn't lock the room, which was incredibly dangerous and meant we had to take our belongings with us every time we left. I'm only giving it two stars because the receptionist was nice enough to offer another room, which was much better but still retained issues regarding cleanliness, and the motel was in a good location with good views. In summary, I really wouldn't recommend this motel, and you can find much, MUCH better options in Paihia that are actually worth your money.
The room was an absolute dump. Do not recommend. Food smeared on the walls, no air conditioning, the sofas had stains, and the pull our sofa that had rips had a cover to hide it. Price was reasonable but i supose you get what you pay for.
Really put out for the price of the room, stove didn't work, furniture run down, pool gates didn't work couldn't close the gate and had little ones with us it was a health and safety concern, tried to ring the manager to advise of the stove and gate, message box was full so obviously doesn't check or clear messages and waited at office no one came, wouldn't go back there overpriced, cleanliness was good but run down apartment
rude, all about money not about the service to guests. Smells everywhere. Doesn’t even come with a complimentary milk. Feel like getting watched all the time. Stains on furniture. My 4 year old started coughing as soon as we got into room, smells mouldy. The spa was cold and when we turned the jets on musky stuff came out, the fresh Towels and clean sheets are probably the best thing about this stay. Would not recommend unless you’re desperate .
