If you are looking for a great accommodation in the Tongariro National Park, you will want to stay at Adventure Lodge & Motel in National Park Village. This Lodge and motel accommodation has wonderful amenities, an unbeatable location near the base of Mt Ruapehu and the Whakapapa ski field, and easy access to a bounty of recreational activities. You can snowboard and ski to your heart's content, canoe or raft, mountain bike, climb the rocks, and hike a variety of locations that are appropriate for your skill level.

If you are here to walk the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, the lodge has their own transport to the start of the crossing, and will pick you up at the end. You can enjoy hearty breakfasts and fantastic dinners at the dining room and the staff will pack a substantial lunch for you to take with you on your outings. For additional eating options, a number of restaurants, cafes and bars are within a short walk.

A spacious and comfortable TV lounge is available to guests for unwinding and watching local programs and watching movies on the DVD player. Soak in the spa tub after a long day of hiking, and warm up by the fireplace in the lounge on a chilly evening after skiing.

Its not often to find a place that has the customer at heart in the same way the Adventure lodge does! They went well out of their way, to make sure we had the best stay possible! Morning breakfast on the run service was well worth it, before being driven to our start of the Tongariro crossing hike! Their interest in the customer puts them well above any others i have tried! 10 out of 10 for customer satisfaction! Very nice units to end the day as well!
Awesome value! Stayed there for 2 nights last week with a mate and it was great. Suite was typical 3-star but a good size, practical, quiet and comfortable. What really sets this place apart from the others is the great packages they do including a hearty breakfast to go, shuttle to/from Tongariro Crossing and a packed packed lunch. Spa after hiking was fantastic too. EXCELLENT value pricing, I’ll stay there again next time I’m in that area. For anyone hiking the Tongariro Crossing or other hikes in the national park it really is the perfect place to stay! Rooms: The suite with 2 rooms is great value! Nearby activities: Hiking - shuttle to tongariro crossing with breakfast to go and packed lunch is great value!
Gill kept in touch and organized our late check-in beautifully! We got at the Lodge pretty late, but it was very easy to get your key and make ourselves comfortable in the our room in very cold night.Rooms: 5/5
Five star Kiwi hospitality from the hosts. Highly recommend the package deal which includes breakfast a great packed lunch and transport to the crossing. Rooms and facilities are clean and tidy and the service was excellent.Rooms: 5/5
We had a fantastic experience at this motel! The manager called us to help us arrange our Tongariro Alpine Crossing the next day at 8pm, when they’d gotten the information about the track to let us know whether the shuttle would be running it was in the off season. She let us know all the conditions. Then, half an hour later, she’d gotten more information and called us back, helping us arrange the shuttle, the crampons we’d have to borrow, and all the information we’d need. It took so much of her time to call everyone individually and give us all updates, but we really appreciated it. My husband is a light sleeper, and they made sure to put us in a silent room. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. Thanks for taking such good care of us! Here are some photos of the walk we were able to do because of the manager’s help.
Perfect place to stay for purpose of walking the Tongoriro Crossing. Friendly efficient transport, excellent packed lunch and breakfast next morning provided by a dedicated team, highly recommend
I've stayed at Adventure lodge twice in the past year but won't stay again. Good points were the staff who were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, beds generally very comfortable apart from a sofa bed which was terrible. However both times staying there had issues with maintenance - e.g. a toilet leaking across the bathroom floor, a bathroom door that locked itself so we couldn't use it... a staff member made a make-shift repair but not exactly to the standard expected of the unit. 2nd visit our mircrowave didn't work was replaced when we asked and the spa pool wasn't working.
What a great place! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The kitchen and bathrooms were nice and clean. We also loved the common living room with the fireplace, a lovely spot to end the day with a chat by the fire. Do note that the walls are not very thick so you will hear other people walk around. But other than that I definitely recommend this place.

Great location and the motel owners are quick to respond to querys. The owners were great with making a later check in as arranged prior to arrival. The studio room was tidy, clean and spacious, however the walls are not sound proof.Rooms: 3/5
