These guys went above and beyond to help us out. Our transmission stopped functioning properly and we feared that we'd have to cut our trip short and go back home to England. Not only are they highly knowledgeable, they're also very flexible and affordable and take into account of your personal situation. Had issues with engine light warning on dash. Ford escape 2007. Advised to bring in for view & quick test drive. Gave me advise possible faults and quotes and free scan to see fault. Very friendly and insightful. Would definitely use if fault re-occurs. Drove an hour from hme- Paihia to Whangarei to see them. Worth the drive and John was great . I would recommend to family and friends

So far great. Getting work done on a European vehicle. Professional service both in communication and up to date standards when it comes to quality. However, a cheap run about for a courtesy car would go a long way for us customers as many come a long way for the type of quality you offer.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough! My transmission was having issues, and the place I had taken it to quoted a sizeable amount; without much information, causing me to worry about being ripped off. My stepfather suggested I call Advanced Automatics, as he has taken his car there and highly recommends them! The trouble is, I live in Auckland, and it’s a fair hike from Auckland to Whangarei! And I most certainly could not risk driving my car that distance with the issues it had. But I figured I would give them a call to ask their advice on the information I had or more like lack of information I had. Sheryl, You were honestly SO amazing! You took the time to explain to me what I was not understanding. You presented me with different options and gave me a couple of recommendations for Transmission specialists within my region. Honestly, if there were not 180kms distance between us, I would have taken my car to you in a heartbeat! You are a genuinely beautiful, caring, and understanding human, so from the bottom of my heart, I Thank you!

Advanced Automatics does a great job for rebuilds- Services- Special gearboxes and Even car services. Great people, well informed and Really know what they are doing. What they say they do, and then some. We take both cars there, and a friend took his Corvette there for a complete rebuild. He is so happy and said his is better than when new. I think that says volumes.

Under new management. I really can't recommend them anymore. Dropped my car in with a power steering problem on the understanding that they'd have a look for a minimal or no charge then 'come up with a plan' to do a repair with a more accurate quote. I went back to pick it up in the pouring rain and was presented with an invoice for $173. Tried twice to resolve the issue with no success. Ended up finally fixing the p/steering by topping up with straight Morey's Stabilizer.
