Extremely Poor customer service. Went with my husband and two small children on New Year's Eve day on our way to a country trip to get petrol. Pulled up at the bowser and as we do at every other petrol station my husband got out to fill up (I am in the drivers seat). It was 12.15pm and we were the only car at the bowsers - so there was no activity other than us getting petrol. The bowser would not start and the next minute an announcement came over the loud speaker saying abruptly "the driver must get out of the car!!" I have never felt so embarrassed or humiliated in my life - it made me feel sick as the way it was delivered was poor and lacking any customer service training. I am unsure of the reasoning behind this procedure nor have I encountered this at any other station when doing the same. When my husband questioned the cashiers actions when going inside to pay for our petrol after we filled up (couldn't have been because of the risk of theft as we could have just driven off anyway after fuelling up) he was simply told "it's procedure so I have to do it" Shame on you Seven Eleven- if that is procedure how about explaining to your cashiers why it is in place and train them to deliver the message courteously e.g. Sorry guys but I will have to ask the driver to kindly get our of the car due to company procedure. That would have made the world of difference and encouraged us to return to this station as it is close to our house.
