I find it incredible how the salesperson could manage 2Cheapcars Dunedin branch all by himself. It takes some serious multitasking to make that work. But sadly this is where the compliment ends. I took the car Nissan Tiida out for a test drive and realized as i started the vehicle it was very low on fuel fuel lamp was on. So I had to make a trip to the nearest fuel station and put $5 into the tank. Vehicle seemed good so I sent the vehicle for an AA inspection. AA came back with the following comments: " Right hand front position lamp - Not working" " Drive belt - Cracked" "Reverse camera view cloudy" "Vehicle presented in a dirty state" So the guarantee that all 2Cheapcars are "Fully appraised and serviced" clearly missed those parts. Maybe the damage happened in storage who knows. I felt embarrassed that the car was so dirty it compelled AA to make that comment in the report. The AA inspector also noticed that the vehicle had winter tires on, suggesting that the vehicle was possibly used on ice/snow. Since salt is typically used in de-icing the roads, it was anticipated that the undercarriage of the vehicle would show signs of corrosion. After the inspection, AA quoted "surface corrosion on exposed metal surfaces" and "recent underseal applied" to confirm the suspicion. Having that knowledge in mind, I still went ahead with the purchase after I was given assurance by the salesperson that the vital defects would be remedied bulb/drive belt, corroded cv joints to be replaced. We shook on it and left the vehicle at the car yard. 4 days later I receive a text from the salesperson saying that the vehicle is ready for collection. I gleefully bus to 2Cheapcars expecting to pay for the vehicle and drive it home. Upon arrival at the yard, the salesperson then says if I am to settle the payment with EFTPOS/credit card, the maximum amount I would be able to transfer with ASB is $5,000 per day the vehicle costs around $6,000. And I was further told that I won't be able to drive the vehicle away without first settling the full amount. IMAGINE MY FRUSTRATION! Did the salesperson actually expect people to carry around $6,000 in cash to pay for a car? It is beyond me why this information could not be given to me in advance through a text/call. Nonetheless I still punched in the $6,000 into my online banking app and transferred the money there and then. Guess what? After 1 hour the money went through! So clearly the salesperson does not know enough about this matter, which could potentially have caused me more inconvenience and more 30 min bus rides. At this point I was just so emotionally drained that I just wanted to drive out of there. The salesperson gave me the keys and assured me that he has filled the car to 1/4 "I don't usually fuel the car but for you I make special exception. I said thanks and hopped into the car, heaved a heavy sigh of disappointment, and started the engine. At this point I didn't even care that the car was still dirty. And lo and behold, I was greeted with the fuel lamp and the fuel gauge at near empty, just the way I left it 4 days ago. The next day I sent the vehicle to my mechanic to have a quick look under the bonnet. This was the verdict: " Bulb and drive belt has been replaced, cv joints still corroded and not replaced." Dismayed, I took the car back to 2Cheapcars and talked to the salesperson about the unpleasant findings. This was when he explains that they could only make the bulb and drive belt replacement, but not the cv joints. Again why this information was withheld from me when I made the full vehicle payment is beyond my understanding. The salesperson, sensing my frustration, offered to give the car a wash and full tank of gas, but at this point i was already numb with disappointment.
Awesome experience buying my car their. Niro was a helpful and attentive salesman who went above and beyond to answer all my questions and requests. Very happy with my purchase. Spent nearly 3 months on trade me logging car prices and 2 Cheap Cars always had the best deals. Highly recommend them.
Terrible service. Had car checked and everything was fine, apart from the battery. Danny arranged to get a new battery, but every time we try to make an appointment to have it put in, he's always in Auckland. He's told us that it must be now verified by head office again, of which may or may not be accepted. Absolute dishonesty. We will now buy a battery even though it was agreed upon in the sales agreement. We will seek reimbursement via the appropriate legal channels. Stay well clear.
Bought an 1998 Honda Civic for only 300 dollars. Apparently it was once owned by a man named James. P. Miller, and I am happy to report that the deal came with no less than two child slaves and 145 mysterious stains. Fantastic deal, and great customer service for when one of the slaves broke down
Was interested and ready to buy a car from here ,however we ran out of petrol on one of the test drives and had to walk back to the yard. Walked away from this business because of this and we will be buying a car from elsewhere. Friendly staff member but not overly happy that we have to wait for our hold deposit to be refunded. who knows when it will show up in our account .
Absolutely delighted with purchase. Salesperson was extremely helpful, advised on what type of car would suit my needs. Recommend this car sales to anyone - you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend
Siva is really an awesome person. Reasons for that as follows 1 I arrived in dunedin on 16th june 17. I had been eyeing on a nissan slyphy for awhile since back in from Singapore. So when i settled in my room, i rang him up and he fixed appointment straight away. Thats efficency 2 While going through my docs he immediatedly told me not to worry about some incomplete docs, he would try his best. Thats reassurance 3 He rang up his insurance n official authorities and released my car on that very day within 1hr. Thats reliability. 4 I got my car which i wanted, drove around same day im so happy dealing with 2 cheapcars dunedin very simple completely recomended !! Thanking for the great help -
I bought a 2007 Honda FIT from Danny, great service. My car is still in great condition. Would recommend to all my friends.
Salesman was pushy in order to gain a sale, which he didn’t succeed. Car was on fuel light for test drive and couldn’t make it back to yard and got told i had to top it up. Update 3 months on: have left several messages to resolve this problem I faced, still not even one callback. Highly disappointing
Rang to talk about a car they were getting in stock wasn’t interested in doing anything to it wouldn’t even put petrol in the car. Told him to stick the car and I’d go else where. He rings me a few days later tho I told him I wasn’t interested in dealing with them specially when ur looking at spending 7000-8000 and they wouldn’t put petrol in. Before he called me back I’d brought another car else where. Would never go back to view there cars
