Enjoyed a bowl of duck noodle soup and a serving of vegetarian spring rolls, total price $16.5 Subtlety spiced. Staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant seemed clean, also well lit. Was my first visit, can see myself returning again sometime.
Located at 32 Nerang Street Southport, Just West from the Australia Fair Nerang Street Entrance. Lovely Chinese Restaurant & Friendly Staff. Has an Extensive Menu List & Two Pages of Yum Cha. Food Is Freshly Cooked & Tastes Great.
SURPRISE..SURPRISE.. This small establishment from the outside is quite the opposite on the inside. With an extensive all day Yum Cha menu..which quite frankly was quite good considering how few people were here. The Yum Cha menu is to order..so no carts moving around which is acceptable in the close confines of this narrow space. The biggest surprise was in fact the duck..ABSOLUTELY SUPERB..it was so succulent and fresh with an amazing mouthwatering aroma. A few other surprises on the menu was the crispy skin pork and best of all.. the seafood laksa..as good as any you will find in Malaysia. In fact do yourself a favour and check out the full range of Chinese Malaysian delicacies on the menu.. This is long and will keep me going back for more.. Great place for a quick lunch or BYO dinner I hope you enjoy as much as I do
Came for lunch and loved the roast duck with rice. It’s so tender and juicy. The Korean style radish soup was delicious. But the steamed prawn dumplings were just ok as the wrapping was too soft. Overall it’s a good place for lunch.
Nice and friendly staff, food is awesome, gotta come back often, it has been one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in GC. This year they have change to a new menu, feel free to try some new stuff, and now they got plenty of air conditioning, gotta be freezer inside.
Nice friendly staff. Good, no-nonsense restaurant. Handy location in Nerang Street just beside Australia Fair. The laksa, dim sim and duck soup were good value.
Expensive for small portion of roast pork.Before I purchased, I asked the staff is it full container of pork belly, she said yes it is a big box. It is even not half box yet with sauce and vegetable cover .
One star is generous. Ordered the half duck .. what we actually recieved was less than half a breast cut into little chunks. The san choy bow was bland and chewy. Dumplings were overcooked to mush and stuck together. Steamed rice was hard. Everything was cold. And the smallest portions ive ever seen!! Spent over $75 for what would only barely feed two people, if it was even edible. Won't be ordering from here again. Luckily we ordered through menulog and were able to get our money back. Don't recommend at all.
order from yum cha republic first time ! food is amazing! peking duck is cheaper than another restaurant ! only $30 can have pankcake and full size of duck meat fried rice . difference price than another high level restaurant .if you wanted is a beautiful container maybe you won't like it but if you like to have awesome good ! I recommend it!
Quite a large selection with hits and misses. We tried a variety of their mains and dumplings. Som emains, like the Drowned Chicken, were excellent, while others, like the honey chicken, were disappointing. Dumplings were fairly good, with the prawns being decent and the soup dumplings being amazing. Spring rolls were disappointing, almost all fried wonton wrap with hardly any filling. For the prices, I was disappointed. Had everything been on par with the best dishes it would have been 4 to 5 star rating, but there were too many misses to warrant it.
