Yum Cha Cuisine Harbour Town
"Yum Cha is a style of Chinese cuisine. It is prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in steamer baskets or a small plate. Yum Cha is generally considered Cantonese, although other varieties exist.Yum Cha dishes are usually served with tea and together form a full tea brunch. Due to the Cantonese tradition of enjoying tea with this cuisine, yum cha which means “drink tea” in Cantonese, is also synonymous with Dim Sum. So ”Yum Cha” you can simply as a Cantonese Teahouses, plus trolley with dim sum served around the restaurant."

Our first meal at Gold Coast, we we’re craving Yum Cha FEATURED: Steamed Scallop & Prawn Dumplings [$9.80] Steamed Pork & Shrimp Dumplings [$8.80] Steam Rice Noodle with Prawn Fillings [$10.80] Deep Fried Prawn with Beancurd Skin Roll [$11.80] Deep Fried Taro Dumplings [$8.80] Steamed Prawn Dumplings [$9.80] Lemon Lime Bitters [$5.50] Pineapple Juice [$4.50] We were so excited to eat and we arrived as soon as they opened for trading! The food was decent, but the wait times was ridiculous. Loss our appetite by the time they gave our food. It was abit of tease for us and we were starving they brought out 1 dish in between & we had to wait 30mins each order to come out. People who came after us, yet still managed to get their food faster than us. If we didn’t ask couple times if our food was coming I don’t think they would of made our food. One of the server said they lost our food docket which resulted having to wait our food a little longer. The wait time was about 2hrs + they had a mix up with the order too. Not a good start of our day All service was via QR Code, so no carts going around
Friendly staff. Good value for money. Enjoyed everything we ate. Quick service. Fried rice was delicious and the green beans with the mince was also very tasty.
Had several yum cha dishes. The pork rib in black bean was very plain. All service via QR code, so no carts going around, clean and service ok. It was ok but meh.
BBQ pork and roasted duck taste awful! These food are so dry, overcooked. Trust me! Very poor luch experience here.
Price is too high! Half crispy chicken 29, half duck 33... etc! Takes ages to wait for the food, like we have to wait for around 20-30mins per dish.. whats worst they gave each dish separately with 20-30mins interval! taste average to be honest and the sweet and sour taste awful! Fried rice too hard and oily! Definitely not coming back!
We ate in tonight and the service was amazing. They were so friendly and helpful and even helped us keep the kids entertained. Food came super fast and ordered straight from the table. Wish the serving sizes were larger but they were great tasting. Thank you for a nice meal.
Food is always tasty which is the reason we are regulars here despite service often being okay at best and plain rude on occasion. Today, however, we were served by a lovely waitress named Joy who gave us the best service we’ve ever had at Yum Cha Harbour Town - always smiling beautifully which I’ve found rare here unfortunately and making sure our experience was a good one. Joy deserves a raise and should be training the other staff, really. Food is quite expensive but I am always happy with the quality. Mistakes happen often here and I’ve almost been charged on more than one occasion for food I never received. Best to keep your eye out for this kind of thing when you visit. If not for Joy’s amazing service today, my rating would not be five stars.
3.25 stars - clean space and nice staff. Food however was quite average. We got the: special fried rice - Rice didn't taste fresh and the dish was on the very dry side roast pork - can't go wrong with this. Pork was nice and crispy with good seasoning Shanghai style steamed pork dumplings - the pastry was on the dry side and there wasn't a lot of meat or juice inside. Was disappointed with this one
We ordered banquet of two today. 1. servings were too small for each dish 2. taste were disappointing for all of the main dishes. Special fried rice was not tasting special at all. The steamed veggies taste bland. fish and string beans were okay but didnot tickle my taste buds. King prawns in birds nest was nothing special. Appetizers like calamari and dumplings were okay. 3. its pricey as the servings were too small Overall, we left unhappy and disappointed. Not recommending and def not coming back.
Firstly couldn’t fit in my table because it had bars under it and the chairs were too high. Then the mains I had were pork belly and salt and pepper calamari. The pork belly was 90% fat the calamari batter was soggy and undercooked very over priced for portion size. Entrees we’re okay still over priced. Left most of both mains untouched explained to service and the best “they could do” was offer me 5% off the meal which cost over $150 both mains costing over 30 and un eaten. Bitterly disappointed as read good reviews before heading in…
