5* for one of the best tempura in Melbourne consistently and at a lunch price point that doesn’t break your wallet - dinner is omakase style I believe..nnVery quaint small establishment. Owner chef is a man of few words
This place was okay. The chef was friendly and energetic, and the food was quite tasty, but I don’t feel it was value for money. For $18.50, the Chicken Katsu, was very small in portion. The lunch special set also looked quite minimal for the $24.50 price.
Very authentic tasting Japanese food. Taste and atmosphere feels like you’ve been warped to Tokyo. Seems like they have limited food daily, we were lucky to get a seat but not long after they had to refuse orders because sold out even though it was before their closing time.
The chef is definitely racist. I didn't appreciate his selective attitude towards his customers and have not been back to his restaurant since my last visit in 2022, even though I live in Toorak. I believe nobody can enjoy food when there is a possibility of being offended in the middle of a meal. Grumpy old chef.
Lovely small Japanese restaurant where you sit at the bar to eat and watch the chef work his magic. Be prepared to wait as there are only two staff working, but that's ok.nnThe food had a lovely clean taste and had a nice atmosphere for the dining experience. We at the tempura set menu and the katsu chicken curry.
