Really enjoyed our stay here. Well appointed apartments with beautiful garden and pool close to beach. The Cairns/Port Douglas/Kuranda areas were easily explored by car from this location.
Your experience of the building will depend greatly on the hospitality and cleanliness of your host. My 5 star rating isnt as much for the building as it is for the quiet street and the gorgeous beach. If a quiet laid back holiday with a kickass shoreline is your goal, then stay here. If you need everything to be brand new and sparkling, then nut up, break out your wallet and book a hotel
The room was ok however a huge hole in the bathroom to access the air con which would not be good for people with respiratory conditions. The customer service was appalling made to feel like we were an inconvenience. Don’t stay if you stay up past 9pm as this is not allowed. Also no Foxtel even thou it is on a big sign out the front and noted on all. information sheets. Ruined our holiday
The York apartments were lovely and clean, very comfy bed and great pool. The management team were friendly and very helpful. I would definitely stay there againRooms: 5/5
Ultra clean 1 bed units pool and bbq area. Ground floor units as well. Opposite beach park and walk . Very quiet. Cafes close byRooms: 4/5
Close to the beach in the small village of Yorkey's Knob which realy includes the 'easy living' of Australia. We had a great time in these apartments in the region of Cairns!
We have just stayed at the York....the manageress was a very pleasant lady and the apartment suited us for 4 nights....do not take any notice of the picture of The York....it is nothing like we imagined...the apartment is very dated and not exceptionally clean...For an apartment to have a four star rating it does not live up to that rating in any way....I think Cairns is struggling as we go up that way often and compared to other places in Qld all the units need a revamp...
Stayed at the York for 2 weeks in March. Very good holiday and management very professional and very friendly. Will be there again soon.
Peaceful location and comfy acom - across the road from the beach. Good A/C too, for when ìt's steamy
No soap or shampoo provided. Air conditioning is poor and warm. Just average otherwise
