I really had such a nice time at this hostel. People who work there are super helpful and friendly and do everything that is on their hand for you. What I was looking for when I was searching hostels, was a nice one but, overall, clean and big and I think this is one of the best hostels I have ever been at. Big showers and toilets, huge kitchen, where many people can cook at the same time, many sinks and very clean. If I go back to Perth or Fremantle, I will come back for sure.
One of the most unique experiences I have ever had in my life. I have stayed in YHA in other cities and Fremantle is top quality on everything. Beautiful people. Clean Rooms and Amenities Including Kitchen area. Close to Public Transport and The Port City of Historic Fremantle. A definite must if you’re looking for an affordable place to stay while in Western Australia Plus Free Pancakes on Sunday
Really nice Hostel within the old Prison, the rooms are the old prison cellsnnHelpfull employeesnnEnough Space to chill and relaxnnEasy meeting new peoplennStayed in a couple YHAs in Australia this one was one of the nicer onesnnOnly negative thing were some guests, which were loud and annoying at nighttime. Had girls in the room which kept making noises and switching lights at nighttime.
Interesting concept to stay in an old prison. The walls and yard are impressive, and there are signs depicting historic escape attempts in the corridor, but otherwise it’s not noticeably unique. We stayed in an ensuite room, which was rather disappointingly just a demountable metal building plonked in an jnternal yard. It had a very rattly aircon which was loud to run at bedtime. Maybe the upstairs shared bathroom rooms are better..? I didn’t see them. Fremantle is nice enough in the daytime, but has a dodgy desolate atmosphere after dark on weeknights.
Lovely spacious hostel. Great amenities including two common rooms and well equipped kitchen. An incredibly unique location for a hostel…not all of us get to stay in prison cells!
