Frequency of trams never matched tripview or google maps, making it difficult to plan ahead. Always crowded. Some trams are not accessible - steep steps and narrow doors that won't fit a double pram. No staff assistance. Touch on/off on the tram instead of on the platform, but doors close so quickly barely enough time to do so. Some stops have no platform at all! You get off to a narrow gap next to some metal fencing. Some buses stop on tram platforms too. Stops named after streets and many stops have the same name with different numbers. Very confusing for travellers. I used to complain about Sydney light rail now I found it much better under comparison
Worst service ever after the footy finished l waited 20 to 25 mins for a tram. Only only one tram and we couldn't get on it. I was with my 84 year old dad. We had to walk about 3 kms to our car. Back in the old days they had trams lining up on the 48 line. People who run yarra trams have no idea what they are doing. After the footy on Fri Melbourne vs Lions l got the train everyone waited 20 mins for a bloody train the service is disgraceful too. Imagine on Grand Final day or any other big sporting day. Lift your game yarra trams
I am a disable pensioner. Today I waited at stop 27 for the number 16 tram only to be told that it was not turning into Fitzroy St St Kilda. This made me late for my doctors appointment as I had to walk. Passengers need to be notified beforehand if there is a disruption and how it will occur. Also these disruptions should not be occurring everyday nor on the same day and time all the time.
Unrespectfull transport controller, aggressive, offensive, even if you pay your ticket they still want to fine you, they make money or salary on fining people. It's a disgrace to have a public transport like te that I've been in different city in the world, this is the worst public transport ever.
There is a free tram in the CBD. No card required. There are announcements when leaving the free zone. Good for Vic Markets, Southern X station, Fed square etc. 'Myki' cards are easy to buy at 7/11 stores.
Was attending the GP, multiple times caught out for 30 minutes + waiting for a tram replacement bus that never came. No one knew what they were meant to be doing or any type of schedule. Absolutely ridiculous. When the Yarra trams people were asked about it their repose was “it will come sometime”. We witnessed one Yarra trams staff member scream at a bus driver. Disgraceful.
Very rude Indian driver on Elizabeth Street Melbourne central stop5 around 12-1pm on Sunday. I have not seen the tram number. If I saw the tram number I would definitely find him and ask apologize to me about his behavior.
To be honest, sometimes it can even not be called as transport service. A definition of transport service is a service for moving people and goods. For some of the times, Yarra trams will just block people from moving……it’s not reliable.
Where do I start? Where. Do. I. Start?????????? I've travelled on public transport for many years and I've seen a lot but what I've seen, and what's been done to me on Yarra Trams is by far the worst. I give them a three because the tram is an important mode of transport for us in Melbourne, but everything else is marked as poor. The lack of safety and hygiene, the bizarre behaviour of Yarra Trams ticket inspectors who have among other things chased me across roads to check my ticket, grabbed my ticket and walked to the end of the tram and discussed it with their colleagues for ages, made snide remarks about me etc, etc... the seating is cramped and uncomfortable, especially on the light rail where a small person like me barely has leg room, and trams are nearly always full. After being full you get four ticket inspectors coming on and it makes it very uncomfortable, especially when they only fine certain people. If you have a shopping trolley, it's hard to get on cos the steps are so steep, if you have shopping bags there's nowhere to put them. Overall, they're just not practical or safe for the every day tasks people need them for.
Absolute rudest employees ever. Where do you get your staff. From a list of people who have been rejected for every other job they have gone for. Was at chapel street and the driver refused to let me on. He did not even stop at the stop. Customer service is the worst. No point complaining as you always have some excuse. Perhaps it was to meet your sham punctuality targets.
