The food was pretty good for the price we paid but the service was absolutely AWFUL. We booked a table for 20 to host a birthday party and not only did the waiter get our drink orders wrong, but there were also issues with our meal orders too. Our orders were also not brought to us in a timely manner, with a lot of waiting for the simplest of orders for example, a muffin heated up. Dirty plates and cups were also not collected in an efficient way and we struggled with rearranging the tables ourselves to fit all of our orders nicely onto our tables. I know a group of 20 might be hard to serve because of its size and level of noise created by that many people together, but if the staff could not handle such a large group, we should have been told that they could not accomodate our booking. And to add insult to injury, we brought along our own birthday cake to serve during our function and we were not only not given enough clean plates to serve all our guests cake, but when we opened up our container of leftover cake which the cafe staff had packed for us, we discovered that they had kept OUR candles which we had specially provided OURSELVES.
I used to go there a couple of years ago and mostly had good experiences. Went there last Thursday day before ANZAC day The coffee was great. However, I ordered a Salmon Fritatta and rocket salad. You would need a magnifying glass to find the salmon and the whole thing was pretty tasteless. But the worst thing was the salad - it was decaying - some parts of it were actually black and slimy. I asked the waiter to take it away and bring a fresh salad - which he did - mixed salad - no dressing and no apology. When I was leaving I told the cashier that I would never come back. She at least had the grace to apologise.
After a slow start to get seated the rest of our experience for brunch was lovely, the service and food were good and the only negative would be the slightly weak coffee that I got. We will definitely go back. Brekky cost was about $13 each meal, I think that's good for brunch, and they offer half-size big brekky which I think is a terrific idea
I rated this due to the poor service we received there this morning. We put in our order in for food and drinks. This was for breakfast, so juice and milkshakes, eggs etc. The order was required to be taken as two separate orders. The drinks came out but not the food. People came about 10 minutes after us and sat at table next to ours. 5-10 mins later they ordered. After a while their food came out. Ours still not there. I asked waitress where our order was to be told it was not put in and they did not know where it went. We walked out.
Went there couple of times and the food was always great. Once we waited patiently 45 minutes for the meals, which was the most we ever waited anywhere. For that i give a "good", hoping that it was an one off unfortunate occasion.
I have been to this cafe many times before and found it very good but today I walked there with my daughter and dog and realized I was 20 cents short to get 2 coffees, instead of good customer service and saying "don't worry this time" I had to get a cheaper cold drink instead.
Honestly haven't been here since "under new management" however there service and food was pretty poor before ... I will give it a go again soon and update the improvement or lack thereof.
