Quality has certainly downgraded over time. The place has flies flying around the room. If you are to eat there I would recommend the pork and chicken BBQ buns
Avoid this place at all costs! All the food seems to permeated with a foul stench wafting out through the kitchen, staff one young man in particular disinterested and plain rude. Look closely at everything from furnishings to utensils tray built into the tables and you'll be disgusted with the layers of grime and dust. Pity as it's in a high profile spot and could be so much better with owners that care about customers, good food and basic hygiene.
The worst “Japanese” food I have ever had in Perth. I say that in quotations because there is hardly any sushi/sashimi on the train. The train is filled with Chinese Yum Cha dumplings and steamed sticky rice, which would be fine if it was a Chinese restaurant. Even those dishes are nearly inedible- either completely wet and mushy or chewy and overcooked dumplings. Bao pictured Very bland. Seats are dirty, stained. Service is nonexistent. We were not spoken to at all, only when we arrived the wait staff yelled at us and another younger couple to sign in COVID, an older couple came in after and was politely greeted with not the same treatment. The only person who was working was the chef, with 3 waitstaff standing at the bar chatting amongst themselves. We were not given plates or any sauce bowls as just chopsticks and napkins at the table. Had a few dishes, saw the quality and left feeling put off food. I wish I could give less than 1 star
The worst experience ever Unbelievable rude service and unreasonable extra charges. The train is pretty empty around 1:30 and I asked them if I could order something to eat as it’s a restaurant. The answer I got is petty much like eat whatever on it. There are 4 staffs run the floor, but no service have been provided. Especially the pink haired waiter who is unbelievably rude. I understand what self service is, however customers need to know where to get food, plates, sauce and chili oil at first. I had one serve of the prawn dumplings, asked for the vinegar as it’s Chinese dim sum. One staff managed to get that for me, the pink haired guy saw this, he literally stand behind me and point at my sauce. He yelled at that staff in Chinese, he said who tell you that you can give customer the sauce, we should charge her. Never ever in my life heard that soy sauce or vinegar will be charged separately in a sushi train or dim sum place. Even the lady sit next to me asked me why they argue so loud and if I am ok. So I left with a order should be $5.50, firstly they bill me $6.50, included $1 charge for roughly 3ml vinegar $2 a bottle in coles. At last, I end up paid $6 as they told me the extra 50 cents is a public holiday service fee and it’s not personal.
We went to Yamato last Sunday for lunch and it was disgusting. I have truly never seen such bad food. I couldn’t even eat it. What they called beef teriyaki was like dog food! What they called tempura was heavy greasy, cold deep fried items of food I could not identify. The spring roll had a mushed up content that resembled perhaps baby food. When we asked for a glass a plastic tumbler which would be given to a toddler was offered. The service and staff was bad, the manager was rude and disinterested. My partner paid for what we ordered but neither of us could eat what was served. Needless to say we will never go here again!
Service was non-existent. Throughout the course of our meal; although there were 4 to 5 service members standing around talking, not one came to us. The food was very poor quality and there was nothing to choose from. During our time here, there was no dishes added to the train. We ended up having to leave hungry because the food basically ran out. The food that we did have was bland and the meat was dry.
Worst Japanese food I've ever had. Service was rubbish. Seats & Food Conveyer train was dirty. I hardly ate a thing but my brother who did, unsurprisingly suffered with terrible vomiting and diarrhea for the next 36 hours. Place should be shut down. Unless you're looking to lose a few kg overnight, do yourself a favour and NEVER go there.
Not even stop in,just because recently started to work at next door shopping mall. Gonna leave a bad rating here for supporting all customers with honest reviews. As a hospo worker, always remind myself service standards is the top thing after my served Coffees.Whatever the Coffee was good or bad,ppl remembered the last thing was who served them. Sadly not even tried and read all the bad reviews were about the bad attitude of front staff. Hope this place the boss will wake up soon. The whole hospitality already in pain against the virus. If you guys couldn't do the service right,it is shame.
I have been a fan of this restaurant....until there seemed to be a change of management a few years ago. The outlet presents themselves as more of a noisy Chinese food court than a Japanese food outlet. The Chinese music blaring and the staff speaking LOUDLY to each other in Mandarin adds to the 'food court' experience. None of the staff members can speak English and communicating a simple order is always so challenging. Sadly, I experienced a very rude encounter with a young male staff member yesterday whose behavior has become increasingly arrogant. The staff member threw packets of wasabe on my table and his arrogance was atrocious. Its sad to see this place progressively decline with the service. The only redeeming feature is the food and location. Disgusting service though.
Probably the filthiest restaurant I have ever been to, one look down the side of your stained seat will make you gag. I knew perfectly well this “restaurant” had 2.5 stars but I wanted to confirm it, and dam sure the reviews were spot on. Not going to go in to the dry crusty old sushi that’s been going around all day
