A leisure place suitable for everybody! Definitely fun. I had a great time playing ice skating with my boyfriend for our very first time. The staff are also friendly. Will come againThe rent for penguins is $10.
Place conditions is not on top shape. It have a wide skating area and some fun games for the general public to participate. Most of the equipments are worn out.
Mid morning during the week is an ideal time to skate to avoid the crowds. Skates are in good condition. Dress in your warmest gear and bring socks!
Great on a Tuesday night! Cheap entry and not too crowded!
The building is looking tired and in need of some paint. The facilities are good and the ice ring is well maintained. The cafe is basic but it's good to be able to get a coffee and a snack. The bumper cars are a treat and offer something quite different. Pricing is reasonable.
Lovely place. We went on a Monday and they had some trouble so the ice was melting. We called them first and they said we wouldn't need to book, then we arrived they didn't want to let us in as they said they had a Max number of people on the ice. We told them we live far and that no one told us that over the phone. They let us in straight away giving us free skates too! Had a great time
Unfortunately they weren't open when we went, but we will be back to try it out and hopefully make this 3 stars a 5 star. Edit - still haven't been able to go, but the way that they approached this review is worth 5 stars. Can't wait to eventually go!
Place is busy and has a good atmosphere, but that makes it a bit daunting for beginners as it gets crowded on the ice. We had a party booked for a group of 6 year olds and overall were a bit disappointed with the experience. At the start of the session we were told to wait in the foyer until all of the children had arrived, while most were on time, as we had a large group and not all had arrived we insisted on entering after waiting for 15 minutes into our session so we didn't lose any more time. We were assigned a guide/attendant for the party, so it initially seemed well organised, however once the kids had their skates we never saw them again. When we had booked the session we were informed that we would have a couple of penguins, and it was possible to get more, however none were available to us which was very disappointing as some of the kids were only able to spend a couple of minutes on the ice before deciding it was too much for them. When my wife initially asked about the penguins she was dismissed with only a comment that the kids were too young to be here anyway. If that's the policy of this place they shouldn't be accepting bookings for young kids parties. Further requests were met with responses such as we should have booked and we should have asked earlier, as I said we started the session late due to them requesting us to wait in the lobby, the option was never presented to us and I did ask repeatedly. Later after repeated requests the manager did manage to get hold of one frame. There was also no communication regarding the food, which only arrived in bulk on a trolley for us to distribute near the end of the session, long after the other parties, and at the point when some kids were preparing to leave. The kitchen staff were friendly and were able to provide a lighter and knife for the Birthday cake. I wanted to post our experiences here as a guide on what to expect for parents considering having a party here. I would easily add another star for older kids, for younger kids I would seek an iron clad guarantee of what was actually included first.
Great value for money as it is $15 including skate hire for a two hour public skate session. Lovely staff and a very quiet rink in my experience which is good if you're like me and fall on your butt regularly! Definitely coming back.
Food service was great although all staff dont seem enthusiastic. I came here twice and on one occasion asked for some gravy on my chips and they rolled their eyes only to walk to the back and give me half a spoon. Right.... Also, there were 3 moths in our chips after that. We kindly apologized only to get a reluctant "uh ok. Do you want a new one or something?"
