Beautiful winery that is scenic and well manicured. 4 stars for: 1. Manicured lawns 2. Classy industrial decor 3. Kid friendly 4. Picturesque 5. Excellent service from staff 6. Food was tasty Lost 1 star for: 1. Better tasting wines at other places this is my opinion. Take a trip around and do some tastings before buying. 2. Food was delicious and very unqiue but… Food wasn’t plated very well for the price below expectations. Great taste but presentation could have been better. A great place to go to for a first-time wine taster or for visitors chancing on a restaurant… but… Wouldn’t really want to return. There are better places.
Lovely restaurant setting, however the food was overpriced for two courses $69, and I was disappointed in the wait between entree and main; I believe the staff and/or kitchen actually forgot ours as about 25-30 mins waiting I enquired, to which I was informed there is usually a 30 minute wait for the beef AFTER the entree is cleared up not from the time of order. If this is true, it would surely be printed on the menu, but instead feels like an excuse. The table beside us party of 4 who just received their entree after ours was cleared, received their main at the same time as my fiancee and I... Ironically the beef was chewy and slightly overcooked - this picture does it more justice than in person.
Had a lovely wine tasting experience yesterday. The staff took time and care, despite getting quite busy. We enjoyed the 3 course menu. The food was delicious, delightfully presented and delivered in a timely manner. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.
A place where nobody dared to go The love that we came to know They call it Xanadu... It takes your breath and it'll leave you blind Sorry, but I couldn't help myself. We had a lovely outing and lunch at this winery close to Margaret River. One of the few places with an open restaurant due to the staff shortages plaguing the industry. We enjoyed a pleasant wine tasting at the cellar door with our charming informative sommelier. The lunch menu offers a 2 course or 3 course option. We opted for the asparagus and the cuttlefish which was superb. For mains we chose the succulent pork and the fish of the day which was moist and tasty. We sat outside in the charming terrace. I enjoyed a slice of french blue cheese and the accompaniments were sensational. Candied walnuts, pickled pear, persimmon and toasts. I just question why with all the local produce used they didnt offer margaret river cheeses. The staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely.
Visited the estate to have wine tasting. Great experience and definitely the quality of wine. Bought one and were happy customers. Nice ambience as well
Even though we didn't get any wines from here, the missus had a great experience tasting. I didn't because I was driving and somebody had to be responsible. Wine tasting is $10 per pax if you're not getting anything but it's still worthwhile according to her. Plus the wide span of the estate is idyllic, especially when you see the sheep feeding next to the vineyards. You try to call them over but they just end up staring at you. Would definitely consider getting a meal over here the next time we're in Margs.
Loved the sommelier’s recommendations and attentiveness as we told her what our palate is like. She tailored the wine choices to our taste and we left with a beautiful sweet red wine!
We opted for the cheese board and olives, along with our wine tasting. Cheeseboard $38, olives $8. Wonderful experience! This is the way to conduct a cellar door tasting. Our host, Sam, was charming and she suggested our selections, based upon our wine preferences. Our wines were brought to our table in the spacious cellar door area by Sam and we were given 2 glasses each so that we could compare wines along the way. The price of our wine tasting was waived when we purchased wines. Such a civilised way to enjoy wine tasting. Would thoroughly recommend Xanadu Winery, should you be wine tasting in Margaret River.
This is a great winery for a long lunch. The service and food are outstanding. We didn’t get a chance to do a tasting prior to lunch but that would be a good addition to the afternoon. Make sure your prebook to avoid disappointment.
Their food is beyond as well as wine tasting. We’ve got some good wine back home. One of my favourite wineries in Margaret River, Western Australia.
