Pork dumpling in spicy sauce was nice juicy inside and texture was good, just not enough salt recommend jelly fish salad, it was so delicious! Order any meal +$1 can have a bubble green tea or black tea, this promote is lovely, and the bubble black tea taste good.
Wutong Chinese Restaurant Located at 86 Scarborough St Southport, Just Near The Cecil Hotel. Beaut Looking Restaurant, With All Different Seating Options. I Really Like That Wutong Doesn’t Close Between Lunch & Dinner. Because, With My Schedule, That’s When It’s Most Convenient For Me To Dine. Has a Comprehensive Menu, Which Offers Great Value Dishes. Had the Crispy Squid Tentacles For Entree,Very Good & The Homemade Seafood Wonton Soup. When Ordering a Main Meal, You Can Have A Bubble Tea for $1 Extra !! Had the Bubble Green Tea. All Were Nicely Presented & Tasted Great. Not 5 Stars, As The Homemade Seafood Wonton Soup, Was Sadly Lacking Seafood ?!
If you looking for a tasty Chinese food in Southport, Wotong is the right place. Good variety of plates and a few different combination of iced tea. I recommend you to try the Chicken Basil with rice, it's a plate full of taste and it never disappoints, it is also very well served and fair price.
Good to order: - spicy braised beef noodle soup flavour here is better than many of the other Taiwanese joints in bris and gc. Also dw it’s not that spicy - must order their fried pork cutlet, it’s pretty good. - I really like the $6-7 forgot the price cold noodles w the Sichuan sauces and peanut it’s really yum - w any set meal add $1 for the green tea but tell them no sugar and add honey, it’s soooooo goooood - tian bu lah the fried fish cakes is good too
We were hoping to discover a new Chinese place in the area but were unfortunately disappointed to say the least. Although only one family table was occupied at the time we placed our order, it took them quite long to serve us. The meals were not freshly made but taken out of frozen packages. All meals was prepared in the same sauce. They seemed to be short on staff as the person had to take care of the orders, takeaways, and serving the guests in the restaurant. It is a shame this restaurant wasn’t able to convince us, as we usually enjoy Chinese/Asian meals. The interior of the restaurant is quite nicely designed. If they could match the quality of meals and the service, this restaurant would definitely have a great potential.
The waiting staff is very friendly. Clean and cute. I tried the signature braised beef spicy noodle and pork dumplings. The beef was yummy but I didn’t enjoy the noodles so much. The dumplings were ok.
It is a very nice place to eat and sit at. It was a quiet day and I enjoyed having some quiet time at the restaurant. The renovation is elegant and looks pretty and clean. The pork in the Lurou Rice which I ordered was a little too fatty for my own taste but the sauce is quite nice. When I went in I thought it was a Taiwanese restaurant but I now realise it’s not. The menu has a good variety and I would definitely try some other non-Taiwanese dish if I do come again. The black sugar milk tea is of competitive price and strives hard to battle with other milk tea shops in terms of taste.
My husband and I dined here on a Saturday night. There’s a wide variety of seating from enclosed al-fresco style on the front decked area or inside eatery style. A number of items on the menu are home made respecting the food which makes it have so much flavour than most other typical Chinese restaurants I’ve visited. Home made Taiwanese sausages were flavoursome. My husband loved the tofu with the different textures. Not surprising we both loved the basil fried chicken. My favourite dish would be the pork dumplings in spicy sauce! I’d suggest getting some condiments from the counter to dip the chicken into. For mains we had braised pork on rice and a slow cooked braised beef noodle soup. The soup had so much vibrant flavour and spice that we didn’t need to add any condiments to it. We enjoyed the brown sugar iced tea but the winner was the double berry smoothie with cheese milk foam. Think of fresh blueberries and strawberries blended together and then topped with what I describe as a melted cheesecake - yum! Not that we needed dessert, but had to taste the shaved ice mango. It reminded me of a Weiss mango bar with a gooey texture topped with ice cream. I’d definitely recommend coming here to try your untypical Chinese dishes made with care.
Foods are delicious and generous size, price is reasonable and the staffs are very kind : After you’ve finished your meal, don’t forget to order their yummy bubble tea!
Our latest foodie adventure took us to Southport to the most humble and generous host. Enoch was so sweet and really welcomed me and my family. When placing our order Enoch really wanted us to try the Braised pork with rice and l'm so glad we did. Actually everything we ordered we loved. My kids absolutely loved the Basil fried chicken. It reminded me of KFC popcorn chicken but 10 times better. Pork dumplings in spicy sauce are handmade and tasted so fresh. My husband went crazy for the fried pork cutlet and rice and takoyaki balls. Loved it and demolished it. My Spicy braised beef noodle soup was great too. I wish it was more spicy but the braised beef just melted in my mouth. Really yummy. For drinks we got Brown sugar iced tea, almond milk with natural anthocyanin and double berry smoothie with cheese milk foam. The smoothie tasted like a strawberry cheesecake but in a drink. All three drinks together looked soo great and tasted great too. My kids just couldn't put down the smoothie and l dont blame them. It was honestly amazing. And finally for dessert we got their singature shaved mango snow ice. This thing was huge! Family of 4 couldn't even make a dent in this dessert and we were really trying. Everyone loved it and it was a great way to finish a truely lovely lunch. Thank you to Enoch and the staff at Wutong.
