Woolworths Northgate Glenorchy is a great local Woolies! The store is well stocked, clean, and easy to navigate. Parking was a breeze with plenty of spaces available right near the entrance, which made the whole visit super convenient. The staff were lovely—friendly, helpful, and made the checkout process quick and pleasant. A really solid shopping experience all around!
9.20 am on the 15/8/25 just spent 15 minutes waiting in a cashier's line. Only one cashier open and the office staff behind their one-way glass had a good look at us standing there no doubt. I did ask a staff member as she walked by if another isle could be opened and she mumbled something and walked past. It took me longer in the line up than it did for the actual shopping !
This store is not appropriate for this community. It promises alot but has a very non-human feel without any real substance or soul. At the desk you can be waiting for extreme periods before a staff member will even be anywhere near it, requiring attending from staff standing around watching others ring up there own items in a completely different section,if you ever get seen. With the fact that it's the job of the shop not the customer. It has been built so the customer does all the work, without rewards for it not receiving correct treatment and prices. The managers and supervisors failure to ensure efpos staff members can use the entire system correctly costs the customer and leaves a bad experience and taste. It seem convenient, however it's alot more difficult to get to, with bad and difficult parking in comparison, and Woolworths prices don't make it something of a completely positive experience or make up for this. If you order something like chicken burgers 18 of them in a pack they will replace them with two 4 pack items, not even taking into account the reason why you paid and wanted the original 18 in a pack, stealing from customers. They are NOT something that a person with a disability can go to and shop, by themselves because of the staff lack of skills and experience taking into account community expectations and the true issues they create and false sense of security, which is lacking. I cut my Woolworths card up because of this store. And finally seeing staff members smoking cigarettes outside in short random walk of the job breaks, this attracts bad elements and makes people open to real world harm, which they don't care about or they would be attending their jobs and customers correctly not walking away to smoke. Bad taste in a new build equals no soul.
I just had a lovely experience here, in the self checkout I was confused about an item, and the staff member who assisted me proceeded to scan all my items for me and make sure the machine was cool. Other times I've been there the staff are approachable, kind and very helpful. Thank you. I think the girl working the self checkouts this evening deserves a special mention she was really nice
New store, large open space, very clean and modern. In store bakery and deli. Large selection of fruit and vegetables.
