Honestly. Unnecessary and unprofessional. After I selected a charger and cable, visiting SWAN HILL from Melbourne for work, I specifically explained that I didn’t have charge on my phone but if I could charge it I could then pay. They said they didn’t have a PowerPoint that I could use. I tried to think about how to troubleshoot it - I asked if there was a PowerPoint behind the desk the customer service area just to give enough charge to power my digital wallet. I explained that I was travelling for work from Melbourne & left my charger at work, they tried to direct me to a car charger and I said that I don’t have my car with me and it doesn’t work in any case. The manager started talking about how their “I feel for you but our jobs are on the line” because of “company policy”. I felt that was unnecessary and I said that that was being a bit dramatic, I’m trying to come up with a constructive solution, not force any job loss. The gentleman who also worked there said that it wasn’t dramatic, but it was company policy that they couldn’t use Woolworths power points for anything non-work related. I tried to say to him, “could this be considered work related because it will assist a sale…”. While I’m saying that, the lady manager interrupts to start slapping the back of one hand on the palm of the other, saying “so do you want our jobs to be compromised for your own benefit”. I said “sorry I’m not interested in any kind of conflict nor an escalating the issue, I’m trying to think of a constructive way of resolving this. I don’t want that kind of rhetoric, and you’re being aggressive”. She starts smirking and rolling her eyes at her colleague in full view with me. A bystander offers to pay for it but won’t look at me and refuses to allow me to attempt to arrange to pay her back, walks off when I try to thank her, so whatever - that’s great. I’ve done so much of that exact thing for others that if it’s good karma back to me - I’ll take it.nnIt’s got to the point where are multinational corporations such as Colesworth don’t show commonsense, it’s all policy policy policy, profit, profit profit. Doesn’t matter how much money you pour into their profits, they can’t show the slightest bit of flexibility or friendliness, they interrupt & guilt trip. When I ask for the name of the manager because I wasn’t comfortable with how she escalated the issue, the lady starts saying she’s the manger… I said that’s okay. I don’t want to continue this with you so is there anyone I can speak to you tomorrow? She starts accusing me of being “aggressive” - why? Because I didn’t want to continue to discuss the situation with her.. I said “I’m sorry, you wouldn’t let me speak when I was discussing whether this counts as using a PowerPoint for company purposes and you cut into accuse me of threatening your jobs for my benefit”. She immediately got defensive and denied it, I just walked.nnIt’s exhausting dealing with these faceless corporations run by policy driven bureaucrats.
Hadn't been shopping here for quite some time, but definitely will be returning more often. Fruit and vegetables were fresh. Customer service was excellent.
Rhiannon is superb. Give the woman a pay rise and what she requests. The locals love her our fanily name has been around for centuries. You wouldn't have a job or money without us. Our ancestors rubbed shoulders with royalty. Royalty over Royalties but in this case, honour the requests or I'll be in there with Sir Percy's stick. Hahaha.
Recently had a refitted interior to the store. This included a new batch of self serve counters and updated shelves. Always friendly staff.nnOnly downside to this store is the narrow aisles which mean overtaking slower shoppers can be more difficult, especially when you have a trolley yourself. As a balance of getting more products to shop vs the narrow aisles, I’ll take the narrow aisles any day.nnClick and collect has 3 car parks.
Their online ordering system is great. I buy my groceries online, show up at the appointed time and load everything in the boot of my car. I'm in and out in 10 minutes.
