A nice new Woolworths Metro store in Green Square. I think some of the prices are a little bit more expensive on some items than a typical large supermarket though.nBut I do like the free coffee that you get whenever you spend more than $50, and you have the Woolworths app or card on your phone.
I am the resident of Green Square suburb. I regularly visited Woolies at GS. It is my go to shop. I enjoy shopping around and found the good deal or bargain. It's my hobby. What did I do wrong? So every time when I stepped into green square store, I may already bought some groceries from other shops such as Coles or Harris Farm. I've been asked to open my bag when I paid the bill at the self service by one female staff all the time. I didn't realize when I was asked at the first time, but this is the third time today she has asked me open my bag. It's racial biased for sure. Please check people's bags first before they enter the shop. Please don't single out racial minority customers for your routine check. I am very disappointed at Woolies' service and value. I literally saw staff pretending not to see anything happened when a bunch of strayed teenager stealing stuff from the shop. Staff offered different treatment and service towards native speakers.
A clean, modern Woolworths with everything you'll need to keep your household running smoothly.nnStaff are friendly and the customers are well behaved in this part of town, though parking can be an issue during peak visible hours.
Today is 28 January 2025. I made it my business to speak with the lovely relief manager onsite asking her why was there no displays anywhere inside the shop celebrating Australia Day this year, 2 years in a row. She said she will pass on my complaint to her head office. Last week I noticed 3 small Australian Flags 2 near the cigarette counter and one further in the store. WOOLWORTHS had displays that represented and celebrated Chinese New Year in 2024 they showed support for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gra in 2024 they as well had displays for Halloween in 2024. Is it instructions maybe from WOOLWORTHS Head Office that the Green Square store will not show anything that signifies Australia Day for 2025 and all very very proud Australians. Maybe it is time for a rebranding of the name from WOOLWORTHS to WOKEWORTHS where they only represent the small minorities.nVery strange also that even though we have a large population of Asians living here at Green Square still up to 17:00 today no significant display of anything to signify the 2025 CNY. SHAME AGAIN ON WOKEWORTHS for virtue signalling to Australians and their customers. Maybe it is time we had a fourth major supermarket chain that will support Australians as well as anyone else who lives here. If I could give a minus to the 5 stars I would provide a -5.
Used to be my favourite Woolworth with nice staffs. But today, two new girls at coffee bar, placed wrong order, waiting time super long, and they two were chatting and laughing behind coffee machine, very unprofessional. I'm disappointed for their service and training now.
