I really don’t understand the customer service at Woolworths Carlton. It’s such a local supermarket, yet the service often feels unfriendly. The staff all seem to be under a lot of pressure, but that still doesn’t excuse rude behaviour.nnI was told off while using the self-checkout after selecting the cash payment option and inserting coins. Apparently, that particular machine was out of order, but if that was the case, why was it still available for customers to use in the first place? Instead of helping to fix the issue, the staff member simply blamed me and asked why I had put coins in. She was super rude.nnAnother bad experience happened when I queued for a manned checkout because I needed to purchase a gift card, and I thought having a staff member assist would make the transaction smoother. After waiting for my turn, the staff member, Suji, scanned the gift card and then had to wait for manager authorisation. She asked me to step aside while waiting for the manager, and then started serving another customer instead.nnThe customer after me had a large basket of groceries, so I waited patiently. However, while she was almost finished serving that customer, she suddenly told me to go to the self-checkout because it would be “faster.”nnI explained that I had already waited in line for my turn, she had already scanned my gift card without completing my transaction, then moved on to another customer and asked me to wait, and after all that, she was now asking me to use self-checkout instead. I asked why she didn’t direct me to self-checkout from the beginning.nnShe simply repeated that it would be quicker, without any apology at all. It was a really awful experience.
Staff are great.. Very helpful and I consider them to be my neighbors and friends. Best Woollys around. II have been going to Carlton Woollys since they opened I also won the Christmas Raffle. Thanks guys.
Loving the shopping experience & variety offered here. This outlet is located within walking distance to The University of Melbourne with ample parking available. The fact that Brunetti Classico Carlton, cinema, local pharmacy as well as Country Road fashion boutique are within the vicinity makes this WW my favourite grocery shopping centre at all times.
I went there yesterday 05th January 2025 and the feta was two weeks out of date. Please check the expiration dates on their products before purchase.
