We are visiting Cairns from New Zealand for a conference. Popped into Woolworths to grab some supplies to take back to our hotel and went through the self checkout. Our experience went downhill from there. I came here to read the reviews to see if this was a unique experience for us and apparently it is not. The check out supervisor was very rude to my wife as we were struggling to feed the bank notes into the machine. Such a terrible attitude offering no help only rude comments. We have never experienced such service as this anywhere and I mean anywhere. Such a great example of how not to treat your customers. This staff member will be costing the supermarket hundreds if not thousands of dollars a month in lost customers. Other than this person our other experiences in this beautiful city have been nothing but great memories. We will definitely be coming back again for another holiday but we definitely won't be going to this Woolworths.
This store is the most untidy and under stocked Woolworths in the region. Shelves are littered with dumped items no presentation of any products just a mish mash of stuff shoved on the shelves. Never any staff in sight…one checkout open and no one to approach for service in any dept. Have complained numerous times about this store and nothing changes. I have worked in retail for 40years and for Woolworths as a Manager and if was the manager of this store I would be ashamed to identify as such. Woolworths cairns central if you want me to return you need to up your game ! I will tell all and sundry to avoid this store and go to Coles.
I haven't never got an experience like this situation.nI had been shopping there one month ago and went to self checkout,and a rude woman stuff told me I need to put my basket back to the collection.nI already explained for her ,I was waiting for my change back.nShe just told me very loudly again.nAnd then I needed to move quickly and I couldn't take my change back.nHow an awful thing.nnAnd thanks for another stuff I think who she is from Philippines,she took the change and told me don't you want your money.nOf course I want.nBut I just took my money back and thanks for her.nI didn't explain something for her .
I only shop here because it’s convenient and parking is undercover. It’s nothing special and quite often under stocked. I may have to reevaluate after today, when the rude self checkout supervisor told me to pick up my empty basket at the terminal and move it to the collection point myself! So, now we not only have to serve ourselves, we have to do their job and tidy up afterwards!! No ffing way!! I’ll go to IGA where the service is so much better!!!
As part of Cairns Central Shopping Centre redevelopment, Woolworths has opened another store in the city area inside the centre. It's on the ground floor directly below Myers.nIt's quite a large store and well laid out. I especially love the exotic ranges in the Deli area.nThe staff have been preparing for the opening for months to be able to present everyone with a new level of friendly service and merchandise.nThe bakery does some amazing things to provide the customers daily with fresh offerings.nPop in and experience the friendliness, you won't be disappointed.
