This is one of my local supermarkets so I’ve been there many times, mostly out of necessity. I have had more than a dozen years of very poor customer service at Woolies Blackwood, but today was just an astonishingly bad day. Just for clarity and for management if they’re reading this review this particular bad experience occurred on Jan 7, 2025 at around 4:50 PM at the Deli counter. Already had plenty of bad attitude at this counter previously, but have always let it go and never engaged with the service person who happened to be dishing out attitude. So at today’s visit I had politely asked the young lady staffing the deli counter with no other customers waiting to be served if I could possibly have a Macro chicken set aside with the timer in the oven displaying only 7 minutes to go and explained I was going to be shopping in the next 10-15 minutes anyway. I was immediately brushed off with a huff and a contemptuous “you’ll find them in there when they’re ready”. I came back seven minutes later to collect a Macro chicken. As soon as I arrived, I saw the deli lady acting all out of control and overwhelmed, and as I waited, this lady unloaded the roast chickens in an overtly bizarre stressed out manner and then went on slapping labels on the bagged chicken in a further dramatic show of huff. There was no one else waiting apart from me at the deli counter, and I was just waiting silently while watching all this unfold. After she packed a few chickens this way, she suddenly flung the chicken across the counter for me to catch, and seeing it was not the type I had requested, I simply said “could I please have a Macro chicken?” She made such an obnoxious display of resentment by giving me the correct chicken that I can’t convey it in words. Appalling, just unacceptable attitude. I’m not too hopeful to hear back from the management at Woolies Blackwood, hence why I decided that enough was quite enough and a public review needed to be posted.
Staff literally physically assaulting customers in the fruit and veg section in order to act like the store is closed 15 minutes before closing time is actually disgusting. Obviously because the executives at head office make more money paying these poor kids for 15 minutes less every night at stores across the country. Dogs.
Small store, couldn't find toilets
Staff and management do their best but this store is tiny, range is lacking and generally my last choice in Blackwood for supermarkets.
Well stocked Woollies outlet with ample parking and useful local specialty shops and facilities adjacent. Polite and helpful checkout staff .. unperturbed by crowds of shoppers on Christmas eve! I'll call again when in the area
