Quality has definitely gone done in the mat ward.nAs far as nurses friendliness, kindness and support. This is my second time giving birth at this hospital and two years could not fault the maternity ward. This time around unfortunately can not say the same. When I asked if I could have a bath demo as I didn’t feel confident washing my newborn and I was sore was asked how many kids I had at home. Really sad to try and mum shame .nHad to complain about my freezing room about 5 times in one night til finally after two days I was moved into a better room, and was never cold again. No bedsheets were changed or offered. Nurses were always chit chatting and having their own banter but room buzzers were going off and no one was attending. List goes on. Won’t say it was every nurse but definitely more than half of the nurses there looked like they didn’t want to be there, or that’s the feeling I was getting.

Choosing this hospital to bring our first baby into the world was one of the best decisions we made. The hospital is clean, spacious and easy to find parking. But the best thing about it was the lovely staff. I must commend the maternity ward and all staff that work there. Even after the months of planning, classes, and research, my husband and I learnt more during our stay there then all of that combined. The nurses supported me with any concerns I had prior to labour when I wasnt sure what to do. When I went into labour my body went into shock and the nurse calmed and soothed me down over the phone with warm and compassionate advice. During our stay they checked on us tentatively, made us laugh and smile even when I was in so much pain, calmed us when we were worried about our bubby and taught us so much. I cannot put into words the level of wisdom they have and the love, support, tenderness, and eagerness to support you that they provide. Honestly, hats off to them all. They deserve such high praise and recognition. I will certainly be returning for all my future pregnancies. Thank you, thank you, thank you

Thank you to the whole team involved in my partner's recent major surgery. From admission, through the surgical team, the ICU team, the ward team including a lovely wardsman Levi, the catering team and the cleaning team we felt we were in good hands through the whole 12 days of hospitalisation.  Care and professionalism was evident at every step. Great facilities, lovely rooms, and there seems to be a pride in service and care even when the staff are doing long hours. Gee we need more nurses and recognise them more for how amazing a job they do. I appreciated as a partner being able to access a kitchen, as well as having the duty of care messaging around to help me know what to do if I saw something not right with a patient - in this case my partner of course. I really liked that it implied that relatives were an important part of the recovery process and was able to take a concern to the nursing staff without feeling dismissed in that concern. Stand out admission and ICU staff - Dave, Sarah and Edwina. The parking is pricey but that comes down to Wilson not the hospital. But I so appreciated being able to park easily under the hospital especially given Wollongong's terrain and having to carry things back and forth. The only downside was the onsite cafe - overpriced unappetising food and unprofessional staff. I ended up bringing my own food.

My wife had a knee replacement in September 2024 and the nursing staff with the care they provided exceeding expectations and making her stay as comfortable as possible. My wife found all the staff at Wollongong Private Hospital from the nurses, the admin team, the service staff and the cleaners who were all very professional making her stay as comfortable as possible.

Avoid Dr Dal if your epileptic!nWorst neurologist ive ever seen!nHe doesnt listen to yours or your families concerns, he's arrogant and talks down to women. My condition has gotten worse not better since seeing him.nSteer clear!
