An appalling experience at Winthrop Village News & Gifts and according to the reviews already shared, this is a recurring experience for many. I went in last week to check my lotto ticket, winning a small sum. Happy to walk away with anything, I gleefully presented my ticket and was met with a hasty older lady who immediately scoffed at me with short remarks that made it out to be a burden to her that I had won and she had to process it. An utter downer to what should have been a straightforward transaction. Have you heard of the old phrase: “Don’t quit your day job?” I have a modern twist: “QUIT your day job.” Atrocious how someone can work in retail who doesn’t even like people. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT A DAY RUINED.
BAD EXPERIENCE The older woman working there is a bit on the aggressive side and sour as. Lottrywest customers are buying a ticket for a happy outcome - but you won't received one from buying a ticket here!!
The old lady is so racist, I walked in and the only Asian customer and her mood immediately soured when serving me, she was also rude in her tone of her voice, I didn't even do anything to offend her I just said hello and handed her the newspaper iwanted to buy and money. When the Australian couple behind me was served next she immediately became nice happy.
Absolutely rude old lady at the counter, looks like she is the owner as I live in Winthrop and always see her there. Only been inside this newsagent 3 times and worst experience ever.
The lady behind the counter was lovely, so helpful today.
Low level customer service. Serving you is a effort; best avoid
Never go in there, since current owners moved in, abrupt and not friendly
