An absolute MUST DO in Tasmania. Just an easy 25 min drive from Hobart, the Cider Shed and surrounds are simply brilliant. The museum area is really interesting, and the food in the adjoining cafe is absolutely delicious! The Pork Belly w Apple salad was phenomenal...the best I have ever tasted by far! Naturally following up with the Apple Pie was a no-brainer, and it did not disappoint either. So good! The Cider tasting paddles are another great way to sample their quality product. You can sit inside with the heaters taking the chill off those cold days, or enjoy the character of the outdoor seating areas and surrounding gardens. Plan a few hours here and take it all in, you wont be disappointed.
A very beautiful venue with lovely staff and delicious food! The cider paddles are very well priced considering the amount you get - $10-$15 each! It was a great opportunity for my partner and I to decide which cider to buy from their shop. We also got super comfy and affordable shirts to rep the Apple Shed! Not really family-friendly in that the kids menu is pretty limited. Overall will definitely be coming back next time we are in Tassie!
Went early as no bookings left on Friday night. Surprisingly the cider was really nice. I thought it would be sweet but no -more like beer and great taste.that really surprised us. The meals were incredible the chef can really cook cos he puts the right ingredients together that actually go together- like apple and fennel and salmon and seaweed crumb. We really enjoyed every mouthful I’ve recommended my family to this place
It's a shame that we didn't manage to visit this place 4 years ago. But we finally manage to do so today! It's a must go place if you visit Tasmania! The food is awesome. I probably had the best apple pie in my life! Other dishes I'll recommend will be the pork belly and the mini potatoes. If you are an apple cider lover, you will also enjoy the cider tasting paddle because I do :
One of my favourite places we visited while travelling in tassie. Awesome food, got the pork belly and lamb ribs which were delicious and had to try the renowned apple pie which lived up to the hype. Highly recommend visiting. Theres plenty of indoor seating as well as a nice courtyard for outdoor dining.
This place was the highlight of our Tassie trip, can’t wait to return. The spirit tasting paddle was amazing with the apple pie. The cider tasting paddle was also delicious, each one tasting so different. The food was local and fresh. The shed was rustic and a great vibe.
Originally only intended to stop for a taste of the ciders but ended up staying for a 2 hours! Tried all the tasting paddles, the apple pie the best ever!!, the roast potatoes and a chocolate brownie! Live music on a Sunday added to the atmosphere. Highly recommend a stop here but beware, give yourself a little longer to enjoy everything on offer!
Willie's serves a diverse menu of Modern Australian fair that is very well executed. And of course, a great selection of drinks and ciders - the hot apple cider is fantastic! Unsurprisingly, the apple pie is outstanding, so save room for it. Topped with great vibes in a cozy barn, makes this an ideal weekend lunch spot.
Only a 15 minute drive from the CBD, Willie Smith’s Apple Shed was an amazing place to visit in our trip! My friend suggested the for the world famous Apple Pie, and it did not disappoint. The coffee was quite delicious too, and I always like mine strong, but they made it perfectly smooth. The apple pie was crispy and unlike store-bought, was made from natural and delicious apples! The ice cream was a great addition too, and we finished the meal with some cider tasters.
This was a great visit. I really loved the venue, felt very cozy. The pork belly braised in apple cider, with miso caramel was by far the best pork belly I’ve had, and that says A LOT! Cider paddle was ok, but probably because I prefer a sweeter option. My partner loved it though. The cider museum at the back of the shed was also interesting. Apple pie was a bit dry, but still nice, it definitely needed the ice cream.
