Wild Cherry offers playgroup, kinder and a school program based on the educational work of Rudolf Steiner from Prep to Class 6.
At Wild Cherry we continually strive to educate and support the development and potential of each individual child, whilst fostering a creative and ethical community.
Wild Cherry School was established in 2013 and in 2017 offers Prep to Class 5. The school is located in a beautiful iconic 120-year-old building that was the original Bairnsdale hospital.
The school supports the educational indications given by Dr. Rudolf Steiner, who founded Anthroposophy, (wisdom of the human being). It was out of this impulse that the first Waldorf School was established in 1919. Steiner’s profound understanding of child development has become the basis for a “living” curriculum, now widely recognised as a dynamic and innovative educational ideal.
At Wild Cherry we encompass the essentials of Waldorf Education, whilst allowing our teachers flexibility and professional autonomy in delivering the curriculum.
Through committed and ongoing professional development we ensure that we meet current educational standards.
In 2017, classes offered are:
• Prep
• Class 1
• Class 2 & 3
• Class 4 & 5
With Class 6 being offered in 2018.
The school is guided by a Leadership Team which represents the college of teachers and administration. It is overseen by a Board of Governors, which has strong expertise in finance, law, community services and education.
