The Wig & Pen Brewery, one of Canberra's first microbreweries. Offering 16 craft beers all brewed in house. Located at Llewellyn Hall, ANU campus.

Story

The Wig and Pen Tavern and Brewery is a Canberra institution for those who appreciate the value of a truly good beer or cider. Opened by Lachlan McOmish in 1994 and still going strong- the pub moves from strength to strength with its delicious beer and warm, friendly atmosphere. The bar features local wines, an excellent selection of spirits as well as 16 taps of delicious beer brewed on premise by Head Brewer Alan Ball. As an added bonus, 4 of our beers are traditional real ales which means they are cask conditioned and hand-pumped (a rare find in Australia!) The kitchen also serves up some excellent English pub food including burgers, bangers and mash and cheese platters.

FREE PARKING all weekend and after 5pm weekdays.

Limited menu Sundays

Great beers, great atmosphere, great people. Always something new to try on tap alongside some awesome regular brews and traditional cask conditioned ales.
Great place to relax and chill with some good micro brews. Food is reasonable and decent serves. I like the old charm and the mixed bag of people that frequent the place. Somewhere I definitely go every time I visit Canberra.
The ambience is weird - it's a modern Uni building on campus. The decor sits between English pub and student common room. Early on a Monday night it was very quiet. Good selection of beers. Those I tried were good to very good. Friendly service. Quiet comfortable place with good beer.
The beer is really good with a good variety. Nice location out of the way but the original place had a better 'feel' to it. Easy to get a seat however as is much bigger than before. I go there every now and then and they're always friendly.
Beers are pretty good nothing spectacular. crappy decor. good lad on the bar with no help. poor service food shite as always. Could be a great business. Ask for help!
Laid back atmosphere. Live jazz when I visited. Hand pumped beer was good as well.
