This gallery has one of the largest the largest? collections of Chinese contemporary art in the southern hemisphere. The building is a repurposed industrial warehouse and is the perfect redesign for a gallery with high ceilings and large exhibition spaces. There is a lift going to 3 of the 4 floors. On the ground floor is the reception and shop. Also a dumpling restaurant which has a wonderful selection of food and teas. The exhibition changes several times a year and there are guided tours. All of this is totally free!! The current exhibition is astonishing. A must for art lovers and dumpling lovers.
Always a great gallery that offers amazing exhibits to check out. Love the exhibitions as they always have a variety of artworks to feel inspired from. I especially like the interactive ones. It is very family friendly and has a lift to take you to each floor if you don’t feel like walking.nnFree entry and no time limit. Would highly recommend in Sydney. Enjoy!
Nestled in the heart of Sydney, the White Rabbit Gallery is a cultural gem that promises an immersive journey into contemporary Chinese art. As an avid enthusiast of art and culinary delights, I recently had the pleasure of visiting this remarkable establishment, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations.nnFrom the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and sophistication. The minimalist yet inviting interior design provided the perfect backdrop for the stunning artworks adorning the walls. What's even better? The gallery offers free entry, making it accessible to all, which is a testament to their commitment to fostering a love for art in the community.nnOne of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to indulge in some of the finest Chinese tea at the gallery's restaurant. Served with grace and precision, each sip transported me to the serene tea houses of China, evoking a sense of cultural appreciation and mindfulness. The staff's knowledge and passion for tea were evident, adding an extra layer of depth to the experience.nnBut the culinary journey didn't stop there. The restaurant also boasts a delectable selection of dumplings that left my taste buds dancing with joy. From traditional classics to innovative twists, every dumpling was a work of art in itself, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs. Pairing these delightful morsels with the exquisite teas elevated the dining experience to new heights, creating a symphony of flavors that lingered long after the last bite.nnWhat truly sets White Rabbit Gallery apart is its dedication to showcasing cutting-edge contemporary Chinese art. The carefully curated exhibitions offer a thought-provoking glimpse into the rich tapestry of Chinese culture, exploring themes ranging from tradition to modernity with nuance and depth. Each artwork tells a story, sparking conversations and inviting introspection, making it a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts and novices alike.nnMoreover, the gallery's commitment to fostering dialogue and understanding between cultures is commendable. Through its diverse program of events, workshops, and lectures, White Rabbit Gallery serves as a catalyst for cross-cultural exchange, bridging the gap between East and West in a world that is becoming increasingly interconnected.nnIn conclusion, my experience at White Rabbit Gallery was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in a world of beauty, culture, and culinary delights. Whether you're a seasoned art connoisseur or simply looking for an enriching cultural experience, I wholeheartedly recommend paying a visit to this hidden gem in the heart of Sydney. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
A really little interesting find. Quite unusual art of various kinds following Chinese theme. Not far from Spice Alley so another worthwhile spot to explore. A few hours of your time that won't disappoint.
Great gallery with meaningful exhibits, plus above all it's free!nnSaw a nice cafe downstairs but didn't get the chance to grab anything there, maybe next time~
