Very eclectic crowd, different bands playing, craft beers and wines - decor from the 70s. Cosy to come if your on your own. Different age groups coming here. Everyone scattered after the band played . Did have a tap cider - very raw, old English cider which tasted unfinished - but that is traditional cider. Service ok. They don't serve food but might have a food truck out the front.
A magical moment with a magical band that battled to get to Adelaide to perform despite all covid obstacles. Thank you for a wonderful evening guys, signing our record and sharing drinks together. The amazing selection of craft beers and ciders were simply delicious and refreshing
What a welcoming, fantastic pub with character and flair that has to be the most chilled place I've been for years. This is where the staff and customer's have a smile on their faces and you enjoy your drink. Try the Danger Zone, I loved it.
Always have a great time at The Wheaty. Interesting beers for hubby, delicious Wheaty red for me, and a great meal or snack from a food truck parked out the front. There is also live music most nights. All bases covered!
Excellent Beer Bloody brilliant Service
The Wheaty is a great place to go have a beer and see some local live bands. They had a wood fired pizza truck out front with some beautiful pizzas on the go, the beers are certainly different but yummy none the less. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the environment was kid friendly as there were some families there watching the bands. Scala host the bands are so a fantastic job, sound was brilliant and the show flowed very nicely. So if you haven't been there yet, pop in for a beer and live music.
Open fireplace with welcoming barstaff that know their way around a beverage. Numerous beers on tap, with a number brewed on the premises. If you are after a bite to eat the cheese platter is generous and you can grab a burger over the road and bring it in. I’ll be back to catch a local band when I am in town next.
2nd best pub in Adelaide. Since rolling out the new brewery on-site, and commandeering half the taps for WBC beers, the diversity of the craft beers has dropped quite a bit. Love the staff and prices are still great, but there's other places offering far more diverse craft beer as well as newer and harder-to-get stuff. The only time the Wheaty shines for me anymore is when they get some of the limited stuff like Cantillon or collab beers you can't get anywhere else. Shame - it used to be a regular for many people :
The pub without all the annoying pub stuff. No pokies. No dining room byo or check out the regular food trucks that visit. No crowds. Just the best selection of drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. Oh, and great bands too.
Absolutely fantastic venue with an amazing staff and a brilliant beers & brew master. Myself and my friend came here several years back and loved sitting by the fire drinking amazing craft beers brewed on-site. Come back every time we come to Adelaide, met Jade the brewer who not only makes incredible beers but is extremely friendly and welcoming, along with the awesome staff. Can’t wait to visit again!
