My friend and I had the Chicken Supreme for lunch yesterday and it was excellent. Exceptionally good food and lovely hot plates. Portion size was beyond expectations. Ten out of ten. I will be back soon.
Great place to watch sport, enjoy a drink, and catch-up with your mates. The restaurant has certainly lifted its game, with a good selection of meals, which didn't disappoint. Friendly and accommodating wait staff rounded off an enjoyable evening.
We were looking for a great pub meal and have been disappointed regularly But the meal we had at the Whale and Ale was amazing!!! Interesting and creative menu, great service and value for money!! Food presentation and quality was 10/10! Our family of 5 had a very satisfying experience and we will definitely be back soon to try the other options this chef has on offer. Thanks for a great experience
Five stars all round! The service was quick and personable and our food was super tasty - huge serves too. Even our fussy 12 year old son was impressed! Note - we received a very kind, yet unnecessary small discount to our bill 14th wedding anniversary. While unexpected, it just was the icing on the cake to what was an excellent family dining experience. Well done, Team W&A! There are plenty of pubs out there who could take a lesson from you, short staffed or not. You should all be very proud. Thank you - from a very happy family of 4
7.45 just finished meal which was lovely. Now to have a coffee to complete the meal. Oh no sorry the coffee machine is switched off.Absolutely ridiculous still 3 tables around us eating mains. They obviously are more interested in going home early than your dining experience. Probably won't return.
Had to delete previous review - Arrived at 6.30 to a nearly empty restaurant. Order 2 beers and water on arrival. Beers arrive 5 mins later, no water, waitress takes our order. At about 30 minutes I've finished my beer, no food, another waitress come to ask if we have ordered, we reply yes and before I could order another drink she departs. At 7.30 we go to the counter, explain we have not received our meals and had not been approached about drinks for a whole hour and her defence was "I did check with you if you'd ordered". Another 5 minutes we got a sorry, we will just make that now, but I wasn't prepared to wit any longer. Thanks for nothing. Empty restaurant pictures for reference.
We love everything about The Whale and Ale! Great food, fantastic staff, great vibe and suitable for young and old. Keep up the fantastic work. You all are super! We will see you again soon.
Good food, I've not eaten at many bars but I thought it was a little pricey for my price range, although the do have good deals through the week. They even had a special birthday cocktail for my partners bday, which was the bomb! Would go again but maybe not to often.
Fabulous counter meals. Awesome selection. We got 2 entrees for lunch & they were very yummy & quite large! We certainly didn't need anything else! Friendly staff & great selection of on tap bevvys too
What an awesome way to spend family time enjoying the sharing platter, was a very generous serving more then enough for two people, staff are very friendly, warm and welcoming, grandkids are going to enjoy playing outside as well as inside in the kids corner, plenty of toys and space for them to use their imagination and looked like a great range for them to discover as mum and dad enjoy a beer or two as well. Highly recommended.
