My parents raved about their anniversary dinner there, so we went this week. Loved the atmosphere! Sweetly decorated. The waitress was pleasant, the service was excellent. I had the fish & chips, haddock it was perfectly cooked, not greasy and absolutely delicious. The coleslaw they serve is the best I've ever had. Mom had a hot roast beef sandwich, she found the beef a little hard to chew and stringy, but overall the rest was delicious. Dad loved the liver and onions. Garlic bread was lightly toasted white bread with garlic butter. Definitely one dish that wasn't impressive, but aside from that, we really loved everything else. The homemade pies are a real treat. I will include pics, but it's not of the full meals .. they were too good to wait! Kid-friendliness: I noticed that there was a nice little display as you entered, with colouring pages and crayons.
The positive reviews and awards for Westside are well-deserved. We came for dine-in and ordered the dinner for two that came with 4 pieces of fish, a generous serving of fries & coleslaw. The food was extremely fresh and delicious. Most dessert is made in-house so definitely try it out. My favourite thing about the whole experience was the staff. Both our servers were absolutely lovely - I didn’t get her name, but she gave us helpful recommendations to visit the Eclipse Walk in town. Our other server, Sam, took the time to tell us some stories behind the really unique decor of the place. Such a warm & homey environment, definitely stop by when you’re passing through Huntsville!
Great food. The tartar sauce seemed like it had a hint of vinegar in it perhaps? Maybe it was the fish? That was something new. Fries - very crispy Fish - Sooooo crispy and delicious. Very tender and not dry like some places. Great food and the ambiance is very original too!
One of the best places to have fish and chips. The coconut shrimp was yum too! They have a huge variety of food options. Loved the decor, they have so many cute tea pots. Also, tried there sample cheesecakes loved the mango cheesecake.
I want to start by saying the service could be better, I dont know exactly why but felt like the servers did not want to serve is. However, he taste and quality of food made up for what was lacking in service. Portion size was great and everything tasted fresh. And the decoration of the restaurant was also really amusing. I would highly recommend this place.
If you are visiting Huntsville and are in the mood for fish and chips this is the place to be. The food is amazing and the portions are great. This feels like a very cosy place which is perfect for dinner with friends and and family. We had both halibut ans haddock and both were great. Highly recommended.
I would give 10 stars if I could! I had the best fish and chips here. Also, the staff treated my friends and I like family! They went above and beyond to make sure our party of 12 was having the best experience. If you are on your way to Algonquin Park and wondering where to stop for lunch, this is the place!
Fresh food and great service. Everything we had served warm and fresh. Loved all the comfort foods we had! Especially the hot chocolates with fresh-made whipped cream!! We had haddock fish&chips, replaced with sweet potato fries, poutine with mozzarella cheese, peameal bacon breakfast, spaghetti with meatballs, and everything tasted so good. Would definitely come back for more fish and chips!!
It is my second time dining in and the service and the food is consistent. You would never know if anyone here is having a bad day, because their customer service skills are top notch. They are friendly, attentive, and follow up with every customer after they have started eating to ensure everything is great. If you need something, you don’t need to wait long. They are very attentive to their customers. The fish and chips is on point. Crispy but not greasy. Gravy is smooth and tasty. Definitely recommend.
Amazing Fish and Chips, with options to select from different types of fishes, the one with local freshwater whitefish is a must try. Their hospitality was top notch,and they also had the old school ice cream milk shakes .Will visit again soon for sure.
