The girl at front has no idea of customer service. Went to deposit some money and was asked for physical id… they don’t accept NSW service digital driver’s licence… I pointed out that I can do it without id on ATM. teller responds that it’s their policy. Either the teller is stupid and lacking of common sense, or the bank policy is stupid. Later on, I went to another branch to deposit the money without physical id. That’s not my first time having trouble with westpac branch staff. They really should train their tellers and eliminate no brain candidates
The Most Unqualified, Unprofessional & Incompetent Staff Of Any Bank Branch That I've Ever Had To Deal With, Period. Avoid This Branch!! They spent more time telling us that they couldn't assist us because the bank closed in an hour and to return the next day. Then we returned the next day for them to tell us the proof of ID they requested wasn't sufficient and to return the next day. One of us is disabled and the other is elderly who don't drive made this process additionally daunting.
Westpac seems to have an anticompetitive approach to banking; causing it to drift behind its peers in terms of delivering customer value. Conversely, customer service is slightly above average on average. However, at this particular branch, there is an excellent personal banking specialist, called Kevin Huang, who will genuinely do his best to assist you with your needs. He is the only reason I still bank with Westpac and I recommend that Westpac learns from it's employees by putting in more effort to deliver quality banking. 3 stars for Westpac, 5 stars for Kevin. By the way, please update the Burwood branch call handling system. It automatically diverts to voicemail and says the bank closes at 2:30pm, when it actually closes at 4pm most days.
Sarah was great. But at the counters, staffing was really poorly managed... Massive queue of 10+ customers... Branch manager has to take responsibility...

Had trouble getting through to the branch on the phone but at the branch the staff and Vivi were very helpful in getting our urgent loan application through. Answered any questions we had and helped us through the documents even though it was late in the day and we went over the closing time.
Bring my sister there to sort out ATM faulty which kept her money without deposit into bank account. The reception is not helpful at all, even irresponsible. They said we have to wait 1 or 3 week for them to check on the ATM??? Sorry but i went through same problems with 2 other ATM from Brisbane CBD and Crows Nest NSW. They all can help me sort it out within 3 minutes on the spot with all details to help them find it easier and cash will be on account in seconds. However, Westpac Burwood chose to left out their customer, make them wait for their laziness.
Didn't have a terrible experience like others. Front staff was actually quite nice and we talked about travel. The one problem is that it's impossible to call the branch at all. You call in, get the answering machine, and they return the calls, so the say at the end of the day. They said they'd call me tomorrow first thing in the morning instead, they call 45 minutes to close informing me my foreign currency is available asking when I'd like to pick it up. Overall, I'd recommend someone from management come in and audit their procedures and processes because it's sorely lacking.
I needed a letter from the branch stating that my e-statement was authentic to apply for my UK visa. The guy at the front desk flat out refused and when i asked who was authorized to write me a letter he said no one. Upon ringing telephone banking i was advised the Branch Manager is able to do this. Complete incompetence from the guy at the front desk. People should not be employed just because they can speak many languages they do need some sort of skill or knowledge about their role.
I went to the branch to request a deposit book of my own account. Was advised that it can not be sent to the residential address!!! Later on the front staff corrected that and saying the address can not be updated in the system, lol. I thought some basic training on how to use IT system should be provided by Westpac.
