I hold this mechanic and their employees in the highest of regards .

There is no hassle booking, dropping off and pickup and you can trust you have got a fair price.

The lads all have top diagnostics skills and are easy to deal with .

I have referred all my friend and colleagues  and strongly disagree with anyone naive enough not to recognise  Western Suburbs Auto Gas Conversions & Mechanical Repairs as the best in Sunshine for quality work at the right price .

Thank you Philip for such a great job. Could not be happier with the service and quality work I received. After shopping around for my Volkswagen Jetta. I found Western gas very competitive and honest changed the water pump and timing belt kit.  And safe to say no more leaks thanks guys

There are better places. Was my 2nd option because Kmart Auto wanted to charge me $750 for a drive shaft, took my business elsewhere WITHOUT CHARGE. Got quoted here $1100 for used drive shaft and used gearbox because apparently the shaft had messed up the bearings for the gearbox, thought to myself this place is just adding more problems and wanted to get it towed to a 3rd option but they wanted to charge me $110 for looking into the problem.

Decided to just get the damn thing fixed then later called up to asked him if I could keep my old gearbox so my mate could look into it (because there seemed to be foul play at hand). Then he told me he's getting the used gearbox for parts before returning it to another shop which baffled me because I was told I'm paying for a whole used one BECAUSE earlier I asked him if he could just replace the parts that were defect to lower the price, he said NO have buy a whole one because.. replacing parts of the gearbox won't work. If only there was a review I could read and stay clear instead of getting robbed by these greasy mdfs.

Got my car back for 1 night and the battery is dying. Popped the hood in the morning and clicked the battery cover off to see a poorly wiped dusty battery. Asked for a service too so they might've did a battery check though they did not advise me to change it. I reckon they swapped my

I am very disappointed to read your review and that you have twisted all the facts.  I am known here to be one of the most honest operating mechanics in this area and I have been here for over 30 years.  To survive 30 years this is based on honesty.   I am going to take your age group about 18 - 21 years of age as an immature attitude to your naiveness.     I am going to reply back to your review to clarify the actual facts. 

1.  You towed your vehicle to my workshop unannounced no appointment and no prior quote.  A  Ford Focus into my workshop because it was undriveable due to the fact that another mechanical business had already taken out your driveshaft  and  you didn’t like their diagnosis nor their price to repair it for you.  They quoted you $750 to remove and refit the driveshaft.

2.  When we diagnosed the car we found that your Gearbox was the factor that damaged your Driveshaft.    Your other mechanic missed it because you must have just towed the car away from him too.    Thats why you came to a mechanic to fix your car obviously you don’t understand how the system works.  I don’t appreciate you saying that we just added problems.  The problems are your car it has problems.  

3. After this  diagnosis I gave you a quote for $1100.00 to replace the parts with a Used Gearbox and a new Driveshaft.  Don’t forget you were only quoted $750 for a drive shaft they would have had to add the gearbox anyway.  Eventually they would have found that problem.  
       You were almost crying at the expense of your own car problems that I felt sorry for you and threw  in a free Service. 
      which is worth another $220.  I also advised you to go to another mechanic if you wish.  So you decided to go to another mechanic.  
     To get this diagnosis i spent an hour looking for all the possible problems    If you were going to go to another mechanic of course i have to charge you for my time and 
     charged you $110 for my time.   If i am not getting the job why would i waste time on it.   Then you decided to give us the job.  I then disregarded the $110
   
4.  Now about the Gearbox rebuild that means sending it away to get it rebuilt would cost you $1800.    
        Your best option was to buy a used one - when we buy a used the rules are that we must return the old gearbox or we get charged for the lot.
       All this was to help keep costs down for you.   You must have misunderstood the difference between a rebuild or buying a used one.
      I do not appreciate that you think would want your old gearbox how many parts i take out of here on a daily basis.  What would i want with a broken gearbox. 
     Get your facts right. 

5. When we called you that the car was all repaired and ready to be picked up you replied that you did not have the money.      You then left it in our workshop another 4 days.    I had to drive your car in and out of my workshop daily to protect it overnight . the car was working fine.      

6.  Your battery was untouched.  There was no problem with it with us.  

My final conclusion is this.   I hope i have addressed all your negative assumptions because after i feel that i helped you to save some money you assumed the negative of my business but i can understand this as your are a very naive young man.    I am very disappointed now that i gave you a free service.
