It’s the core place for shopping in West End and there are a few outdoor restaurants, ice cream shops, and Harris Farm Market, where a wide variety of things are sold.nnThe shopping precinct is actually massive that it’s divided into 8 sections but Peter’s Lane Retail Mall is the primary section, where Woolworths, pharmacy, Harris Farm Market, and parking lots entrance are.nnThere are quite a few parking spaces in the basement but it takes some time to find one to park.
West Village is a vibrant and modern shopping and dining precinct that blends retail, lifestyle, and community spaces beautifully. Set within a redeveloped heritage site, it has a unique atmosphere where historic charm meets contemporary design. The precinct offers a good mix of shops, cafés, and restaurants, making it a great spot for both quick errands and relaxed outings.nnThe dining options are a standout, with plenty of trendy eateries and specialty coffee spots to choose from. Wide open spaces, greenery, and creative public areas make it feel more like a lifestyle destination than just a shopping centre. It’s also family-friendly, with areas for kids to enjoy and regular community events that bring the place to life.nnOverall, West Village offers a refreshing shopping and leisure experience right in the heart of Brisbane. Whether you’re there for food, shopping, or just to relax in the beautifully designed precinct, it’s definitely worth a visit.
I am a resident who uses this centre daily, and I am extremely disappointed by the current state of its management and upkeep. What was once a well-maintained and welcoming environment has visibly deteriorated over the past two years — and it seems no one is taking responsibility.nThe condition of the lawn is appalling. It's patchy, dry, and an eyesore. It gives the entire centre an abandoned, poorly cared-for look. They put the fence almost 1 year i think.nSecurity presence is either completely lacking or unprofessional often seen staring at their phones while pushing trolleys, seemingly unaware of or indifferent to what’s happening around them.nThere was crazy guy yesterday but hard to find security. And finally she came and call the police.nFrankly, it’s unacceptable.nnIs there actually a centre manager? I once saw someone — a shorter individual who walked with confidence and wore a name tag that said “Al**”. If he is the manager, then I strongly urge him to step up and start managing the center properly. Right now, it feels like no one is in charge, and it shows in every corner of this place.nAs someone who lives here and sees this decline day after day, I am asking — no, expecting — action. The current state of the center is not only disappointing but also disrespectful to the residents and visitors who deserve better.nI look forward to seeing visible improvements — soon.nSincerely
While the village is a good central Brisbane location in South Bank, I draw your attention to the Vietnamese takeaway across from the bus stop, and the small cash only coffee shop adjacent. Both are superb
The restoration of this area where the West Village Shopping Precinct now sits is just a breath of fresh air. They’ve provided a rich community space that I’m sure locals love to go! A vibrant destination indeed, catering to a diverse target demographic, from families to young professionals, offering a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment experiences. One issue I’ve found was in the underground parking, there aren’t any designated walkways to get to the shopping entrance which can make it difficult and somewhat unsafe without pedestrian crossings if you’ve got a pram and young kids. Besides that, this place feels like a modern urban oasis with that beautifully green middle garden that seamlessly blends into the built environment!!! Love it
