We loved our experience. Went over new years and we landed up in an extended camp area so nowhere near outdoor kitchen or showers or toilets but they had set up some hired portaloos and they were clean and great throughout the entire time. The prople in our camp area had kids the same age as ours so the experience there was great too. The place allows dogs but owners had to clean up after them which they all did and management of the campgrounds were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area for little walks and things to do with kids. Overall a great time apart from some weather which obviously isn't controlled by the campgrounds. I would definitely return for another stay

I didn't stay at the campground, however out seemed like a decent place to stay and it wasn't too far from a beautiful waterfall that is apparently 50 m tall. The DOC times in New Zealand are generally pretty long if you're a fit young adult. The sign said 1 hr 15 min to the waterfall and I did it in 35 minutes. Beautiful waterfall and if you keep going past the viewing point, there are pools that you can take a dip in if you feel so inclined to do.

Amazing campsite with forest all around. Basic long drop toilets but well supplied with paper towels. The caretaker Niki is simply amazing and very talkative. Surely recommend staying here.

The camp ground is well spread out and it has great river swimming. Close enough to Whangamata that you can also head to the beach for the day. Only downfall was long drops but does have hot showers by 2 dollar coin.

Beautiful setting amidst lush forest and clear water stream. Definitely a serene and relaxing place. However $13/pp is a bit steep considering there’s no kitchen, the tap water has to be boiled first, hot showers are $2 for 5 mins and the area around the toilets smelt unvery pleasant. Facilities could use an update.
