Great Public Golf course, with natural trees & bushes kept around well laid fairways & true green. Good cafe and pro shop to match with enough elbow room for everyone in 18 holes x 2 set of courses old and new. Children's carpeted mini Golf is watchworthy.
I love the mini golf here for a wonderful screen free day with the kids The course is beautifully designed, with some clever ideas to keep everyone challenged and entertained. The choice of beginner, intermediate and advanced options are clearly marked and there are plenty of shady places to sit or stand between shots. Lunch and a cold drink at the kiosk after was perfect too.
Went to the course for mini-golf. The areas feels very relaxing and scenic. The courses were fun and some were a bit of a challenge. Each green has three levels of skill, beginner, intermediate or advanced. A couple of hole in ones on the advance holes!
Over the past 18 months or so the two courses have gone downhill at an alarming rate due, in my opinion, to lack of effective and experienced management. The pro-shop used to be manned by personnel with a wealth of experience. Now you are lucky if there is anyone over 20yrs old, presumably cost cutting measures, and I would guess that 90% of them have never picked up a club and played golf. The pace of play is painfully slow, no matter what day of the week or time of day you play. There used to be a marshal who patrolled the course pushing play along. Nobody fulfills that role any more. The greens and fairways are suffering, the reason for which is not abundantly evident but I suggest that it is money driven. This venue is no longer about the two golf courses but about the 'destination' bar/restaurant/weddings/conferences etc. where the management can gouge as much money as possible. Golf takes a back seat as is evidenced by the attached photos showing the state of the course just one week ago. This situation is going to get worse unless something is urgently done about it. Failure to take any action will result in both courses turning into 'goat tracks' which will unplayable. You heard it here first Response to the GM's review response I am given to understand that you have unsuccessfully tried to 'phase out' the 10 experienced PGA members that you are so proud of? The claims that you "send out multiple staff each day for marshalling" is total rubbish. I have not met anyone who has seen one of these elusive staff members. The only staff that we ever see on the course are those driving the drinks cart, and that is no doubt because it is money driven You state that "the course has some dry spots which we are working on and repairing". Unfortunately there is no evidence of this as the areas referred to in my post 4 weeks ago have had no work done to them since, that is evident. I do note however that a GUR sign see photo has since been placed on the substandard area on the 18th green on the Tuart course but no attempt, that we can see, to repair the problem. I note also that where the edges of the greens elsewhere are deteriorating your repair strategy appears to simply be reducing the size of the green such that the green no longer encapsulates the deteriorating areas. You state in your response that the poor condition of the course is due to two reasons, excessive heat and excessive traffic. There is no question that heat has played a part in some of the dry areas on the course but does not explain those areas that are obviously suffering for other reasons, e.g. disease which does not appear to have been addressed, see photo of black patch on fairway. With regards to the excessive traffic excuse the extent of the traffic on the course is not, as I understand it, too dissimilar to last year and the year before that, but it has got significantly worse over these last few years. The maintenance of the course leaves a lot to be desired. For example I am not sure if the intent when cutting the fairways is to 'overcut' to the point that subsoil is exposed to the 'excessive heat' and 'excessive traffic'. To the layman this is not right, see photos The course is obviously not prepared before the days play, especially on weekends which presumably are your busiest days. This is evidenced by, amongst other things, the fact that bunkers have not been raked as there are footprints from the day before, see photo, and the greens inspected, see photos of 9th green on the Tuart that appears to have been dug up by an animal Your staff advised that a red flag signifies a hole at the front of the green, white in the middle and yellow at the back. In reality these flags could be anywhere on the green, see photo of yellow flag at the front of the green Whilst I acknowledge that the extent of the excessive unrepaired pitch marks on the greens is somewhat outside your control there is no evidenced attempt to 'educate' players in this regard. I repeat my earlier prediction that a 'goat track' beckons should action no be taken
Great location, Golf, driving range, thwle best ever putt putt I've been to. Nice club/tavern, lots of space. Big golf shop with a large variety of everything Golf. Looking forward to going again.
It does not really get any better than this, public golf course with 5 star facilities, driving range over looking the city skyline with automatic ball load so you can just focus on your swing. Reasonable pricing for balls, 130 balls for $30 bucks on a weekend. Staff in the pro shop was helpful and friendly even though I was clearly a novice. Cafe has nice food, drinks and over looking the beautiful surrounds. Mini golf course is clean and nicely presented. 3 levels of difficulty and a must try for a nice half day out with family. Very nice and modern, worth the drive from south of river.
For a public course, it is very well maintained. I played the old course. Love the fish and chips
Great mini-golf course, but quite expensive and not helped by putting the price Up for school holidays! Just gouging. Good restaurant for lunch or dinner after game. Excellent food and drink with friendly attentive service.
Absolutely love the mini golf course for a fun time with family! The place was beautiful and definitely a must go in Perth.
Great driving range. Good prices. Was really nice very early in the morning with the sun rising and views of the city.
