Wellington Regional Hospital is never a good experience overall...nThe staff were professional and did their best, but the long wait times and crowded spaces are always the case here...nThe facilities were clean, though some areas felt a bit outdated...nCommunication could have been better, as many people, including myself, had to ask multiple times for updates and assistance...nIt's not a terrible experience, but it's not amazing either...
Long queue is a nightmare in this hospital. My wife admitted yesterday at ED but it almost 14hrs still hasn’t seen a doctor yet. I understood that doctors were severely understaffed but nurses giving me lecture about it’s normal and it’s what it is.nnThis is unacceptable attitude and I suggest people don’t go there unless there’s no options, because you will facenwith an endless cue and excuses.
I got the worst Dr in the country. I was in a lot of pain, the nurse's who were absolute angels gave me morphine twice while I waited in the waiting room for 8 hours to get an ultrasound. When I finally got to see the Dr they took my blood and told me that there is no ultrasound and I'd have to go private. 10 hours all up. Pain like someone was branding my chest. Left with nothing but lost time and tears of frustration. I went here for help. But I guess that's not what hospitals do now.nnAlso the receptionist with the beautiful hair was so kind and caring.nBut that female Dr was uncaring, lazy and a complete liar. There is no way wellington hospital doesn't have an ultrasound machine. She just had no interest in helping me.
Takes far too long to get treated. A nurse or doctor comes for about 60 seconds then disappears for 2 hours. At that point, someone else appears for 60 seconds and then clears off for two hours. After 20 hours, I had been treated. Would have been quicker to fly to Sydney and be treated there. It's not the fault of the doctors and nurses, the health system is in disarray and extremely underfunded. Thanks Jacinda!
I had hand injury, the staff to doctors are legends, Yes there is long wait times but they are burned out, I saw in their eyes how tired they are yet they are working for us, I love every single person, staff and doctors I wanna thank you so much for looking after me and not making me leave until we found and fix the injury.nnThank you again!nn
