Did a Greek cooking course here and loved it! Fabulous facilities with angled mirrors on the ceiling to clearly see what the chef was doing. Would highly recommend.
Have participated in the swimming lessons conducted at Oaks, and the instructors were great. Mark was exceptionally encouraging and provided individual attention. Sam was good and motivational, as well. Overall, it was non judgemental and a great learning experience. Look forward to next season.
Great range of courses, I really nejoy the cooking & baking classes. I have found each course I complete to be very useful and the tutors are great at breaking down the processes. Recently, I completed the sourdough class which was informative and well-organised.
I've been on several WEA day tours and one week long tour hosted by Dr Dennis and Trevor. They are always friendly and so knowledgeable on the areas we visit, especially the local history. Written notes are always extensive. The little library is outside WEA, just to the right of the main doors.
I did a Turkish cooking class and learnt to cook gozleme. Excellent teacher, well organized, clear explanation and the gozlemes were delicious.
Started benefitting from WEA in 1981 with a Cosmetics Lifestyle course. With following decades, the WEA has always had courses that benefit my life choices: solo backpacking in Europe, I benefitted self- defense course: when I started my business that am still enjoying I took an intro to computers in 1991 with successive program-specific courses to this day. International cuisine, food for a healthy microbiome, Tal Chi & yoga...I have so much gratitude for the WEA.
Easy access with ample parking out the front. It's a very well-organised and clean environment
I have done many courses here and absolutely love it. The teachers have all been of a high caliber, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the building/equipment is perfect. I cannot speak highly enough of this great, local resource.
Over the years I have done numerous wonderful courses with the WEA including picture framing, bicycle maintenance, computer skills for Mac, Thai cookery, cheese making, home maintenance, pattern making, upholstery and most recently sourdough bread making. I have enjoyed every course I did and some have been excellent and all have been good. I haven't any photos to add but over the years have recommended courses to others as being affordable, great value and all really helpful.
I recently did sandal making and cheeses making courses. Both instructors were fantastic. So helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone who's been thinking of doing either of them.
