A good professional clientele frequents this lovely Art Deco style hotel. It has been a landmark in Brisbane for many years. We were catching up with some of my wife's work colleagues for a drink and a meal. Drinks were expensive, for my tastes at least, but the food was a standout. Turns out we all ordered a steak of one form or another, and they were all excellent, in fact I rate mine as one of the best steaks I have had out for many years - perfectly cooked and full of flavour. A bit light on the accompanying sauce - please offer a bit more for the future! A really great spot to catch up with some friends, with a choice of seating from stools, to benches to dining area.

We quite like coming here for a meal sometimes and we understand that the food will be the usual tasty pub grub. Unfortunately this time we both ordered the half roast chicken with chips for $21 but we both only received two thighs each accompanied by some underwhelming chips on the side? The chicken itself was not hot. The baby squid we ordered as an entree is not good, don't order that. We chose not to question the portion of chicken at the time and we definitely will come back as we've never had a bad meal before this, but we will be expecting to be served what is outlined on the menu. Just one of those off nights I think.

I have never left a review before, let alone a bad one, but I am so disappointed in this venue. To ask the prices they ask for their meals, which are well below average, is outrageous. The restrooms are absolutely filthy, it does not take much to clean a wash basin and do the best that you can with outdated facilities. I then had to go there for a function and the catering was a joke. I would hate to think what the charge was for putting a few low grade savouries in the oven. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Stopped in for a quick burger and beer (bit of a pattern with my reviews for burgers, send help... in the form of more burgers) Delicious food and cool little atmosphere. They did completely forget my order and the other guys food came out first but worth the wait. Delicious.
