We visited for dinner on a public holiday. They weren't busy and we ordered and were served quickly. Lots of traditional Indonesian food available and some not so traditional, including some salt and pepper calamari and spring rolls. The Nasi Goreng was ok, I was expecting a large piece of chicken seperate to the rice but it was mixed through the dish instead. It was ok. The squid sambal was good, but a bit unbalanced. They went pretty heavy on the fish sauce and it was lacking a bit of sweetness. The squid was cooked perfectly and the spring rolls were great too. Service was quick. The staff were lovely. The prices were about average for the area.
I ordered ayam belado . Isn't what I expected it to be . It's sliced breast meat with long beans and cauliflower . So, one star unfortunately. If u goggle ayam belado , it will have different style of cooking but all have similar colours and none with vegetables. I won't be coming to this restaurant anymore cos I have high expectations when comes to Asian food . It's Very hot outside . So , we decide to sit inside . Inside too is very warm . I look around and the air con is not turn on . Probably there's only two of us in here but don't you think every customer is a valuable customer ? Visit the toilet. It's sparkling clean . Ordered coke but waitress brought us diet coke . We order another can of coke cos we don't like diet coke . She did apologize for her mistake but yet still charge us for the diet coke . Haizs .... oh . And I was told that the main chef has gone back to Bali for a wedding . Could that the reason why the food is bad ?? There's cabbage in laksa ! Now , that's the 1st !
Low key place and uncrowded when we had lunch there for 2 people. Service was polite, respectful, unobtrusive and quick. I had the beef rendang which tasted pretty much the same as this dish served in Jakarta. The serving comes with the beef and rice only, so we also had the vegetable Capcay dish as a share dish. The other dish was red curry chicken. Nothing spectacular here but if you like or want to try Indonesian dishes give this place a try. The sweet ginger tea to finish the meal was splendid.
The food and service was great. Will definitely be back.
In regards to service, I agree with the others - the service is excellent, the food however, not so much. The price isn't remarkable, I would probably get much more for my money in any Chinese restaurant in the area. For $16 I got a quarter of small chicken tossed in a marinade and literally 2 table spoons of cooked rice. My wife ordered Special Fried Rice that was for $22 and trust me there was nothing special about it. She threw 3/4 of that away - as she said it was uneatable! Guys, your food is terrible!!! My chicken was spicy, but did not have a taste. It also seemed to me that every possible bone from the entire chicken was in my meal. I was basically choking on a bone with every bite. In fact I collected pretty significant container of bones including a neck, brrrrrrr!!!!! For past month we have visited at least a dozen Asian restaurants and this one seems to be the worst. Sorry guys, your warm welcome doesn't cut it! I won't dine in there ever again.
Service is good and the staff are friendly. My take-away was done quickly and the price was reasonable. The food is just very dull, the sauces are clearly mixed from bottles and lacking in any of the sophistication you would expect from good Indonesian food. The food's only worth 2 stars but the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food in Mandurah tends to be like this no matter what cuisine you might try, dull to the point of blandness.
We visited the restaurant with our two dogs and sat at a table out the front. Service was quick. Had curry puffs and spring rolls which were both delicious. For mains we had mie goreng and nasi goreng. Both were tasty. Will definitely be visiting again to eat some delicious curry puffs.
Well I have to take back my food review from before....once again the staff and service was great but this time the food was inedible. We ordered Chicken Mie Goreng and Nasi Goreng, both meals had an overbearing fish paste taste to them, the Mie Goreng was stoggy like it was reheated in a microwave and not cooked fresh. The chicken was overcooked in both dishes and very dry, I did let the staff no we were not happy and asked if they had a new chef because the food was so bad and she replied that YES they did have a new chef. All I can say is get the old one back as we certainly won't be returning. Review from months earlier........ Excellent food and warm welcoming staff fast efficient service, simple well priced menu with all the Bali classics.
Monday lunch and quite dissapointed. Placed order and food arrived in a good time except steamed rice for some reason. We sat there with our mains waiting for the steamed rice to arrive for a couple of minutes after the mains which always seems an eternity. Prior to this we ordered a chicken sate entree between us. Well, sate chicken with it's wonderous smokey flavour and spicy peanut sauce is an Indonesian signature dish. Sadly this offering was not representative of such a dish. The chicken cubed on skewers was likely cooked in a microwave oven and the sauce had no spice to it at all. The mie goreng ayam main was not bad and the stirfry vegetables that came out on a sizzling plate promised much, but like a liberal party state conference delivered little and was just as bland. So, as our tea we had ordered never actually arrived, we left. Plenty of much better and cheaper Indonesian restaurants in Perth so they had better lift their game.
Below average for an Indonesia food. The fish was not cooked and had to sent back. The ganishing was quite tasteless. The chicken curry was the only good dish. The squid was ok so too the gado gado and the duck. All dishes came with rice.
